***DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY*** *EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER* Do not mislead your customers. "Policies ... based on contractual and insurance requirements." So, what you're telling me is the next guy to buy a house with your panels installed is S.O.L. for having them maintained since they weren't the original owners that were under contract. Also, btw, I never received a call back "upon her return." I was informed the operations manager would be away, but was not informed anyone would be working on a quote except her. In fact, I was told that I would need to wait for her to return in order to get my quote. If there was a team working on it, then I figure you'd have another member reach out to me, especially for a customer that wants a new roof from you. Extremely disappointing business and customer service practices. Also, regarding the Enphase warranty, I called Enphase and they told me "You MUST have the original installer (aka the maintainer) come and take a look at your panels." *END EDIT* *ORIGINAL POST BELOW* Genuinely the first time I've ever been frustrated enough to leave a review on anything. My fiance and I just bought a house that has panels originally installed by REC. We knew the house needed a new roof and asked the sellers to get a quote for us. REC told the sellers (original owners of the panels) that it would cost $4000 for removal/reinstall for before/after getting the new roof put on. My fiance and I thought that seemed fair, so after going through with buying the home, we coordinated a roofer and reached out to REC to schedule them to remove/reinstall the panels. HOWEVER, REC informed us they would not remove/reinstall/touch our panels since we were not the original ones under contract. I asked if we could write up a new contract and they said no. So, not only do I need to get a new solar person... this also screws me for warranty with the panels. If the microinverters have issues, which are through a company called Enphase, then Enphase wants the original installers (REC) to come out and check the panels. But REC won't touch my panels since I wasn't the original one under contract. Lastly, REC told me they would only remove/reinstall my panels if I got more installed or if I got a new roof through them. I told them "Great, I'll get a new roof through you so I only need to talk to one contractor for everything." REC front desk then told me the Operations Officer (Sherry I think?) would reach out with a quote. I called 4 times over the course of two weeks waiting for this Operations Officer, but the front desk kept giving excuses as to why she was unavailable and that it would only be a couple more days until I eventually said screw it and went with someone else. Renewable Energy Corp genuinely has to be one of the worst companies I have ever had the misfortune of having to work with. ***To anyone that plans to use this company, please go somewhere else unless you want to absolutely royally screw over the next guy that buys your house***

I knew nothing about solar energy when I bought my house which included rooftop solar panels. I’m thinking about a roof replacement and I’ve had great difficulty locating a solar company willing to entertain the idea of roof replacement to include solar panel removal, and reinstallation. And speaking with Sean I came away far more educated than I ever could’ve guessed. Shawn spent a great deal of time explaining the industry passed and present and exactly what services he could offer. I cannot emphasize strongly enough, just how helpful he was. I ultimately did not go with Renewable Energy Corporation because my home was outside of their service area. Their priority was providing the best possible service to their customers, and because of the distance, they couldn’t confidently guarantee timely support if needed. I genuinely appreciated that level of honesty and commitment to customer service. Even though I was outside their service area, Sean McNeil, one of the owners, still spent 45 minutes of his Saturday educating me about solar panels and helping me understand potential pitfalls to watch out for while researching the right system for my home. He was knowledgeable, informative, and honest throughout the conversation. I’m grateful for businesses that operate with this kind of integrity and care for people. The whole Renewable Energy team was amazing and felt right. High quality service with high quality results and product! The whole process was clear and professional, from the contract to the permit to the install to the completely compiled tax forms and credit package we received a few weeks after the installation was completed! I am very happy with the Enphase micro converters and I am already producing more energy than I consume and it's only been a few months in winter! Renewable outlined a detailed plan on how the panels pay for themselves. i've been following it and my electricity bill is 67% lower in the winter, can't wait to see the savings in the summer. The installation team was detailed in the explanation their work and patient. they have even been very responsive after the installation.

They were on time, answered all of our questions, did not rush or use high pressure tactics. Reviewed several options with in our budget. Good follow up on the purchase process. Installion teams were on time, courteous and considerate of our schedule. Walked us thru all phases of the installion, answering our auestions and addressing our concerns. I have had great service with Renewable Energy Corporation (REC) since my initial installation in 2013. The staff has always been professional and kind to work with. I just got additional panels installed and everything went well with the installation. I personally like working with Ms. Sherrie Miller for her great customer service, attention to detail, and promptness in getting me the services I require immediately. First Time Solar Buyer

Renewable Energy has been very professional and easy to work with; especially with my job taking me away from home for months at a time. And being the first of my neighborhood I received a very good deal on installation. They've checked in plenty before, during and after installation. And it's comforting to know that I have a second pair of eyes looking over my system to make sure it is running properly. I look forward to working with them in the future for more projects that I plan on adding to my house!

Easy as 1, 2, 3

REC made the entire process smooth and stress free. Communications were clear and prompt. REC coordinated the install date, inspection, SREC paperwork, and soon will have done the tax credit paperwork. The project was stress free. Just switched on the 8 panel, 3kW Q cell G10 system, so we'll see the results soon!

Our New Solar Panels

We had a great experience with getting our solar panels through Renewable Energy Corp. From start to finish we felt very informed about the whole process. We had been thinking about solar for some time now, but it felt overwhelming looking into it with all the companies out there. The whole team at Renewable Energy Corp put us at ease and made sure we felt comfortable and informed about our decision to install solar panels. Ciara Saffer and team held our hand throughout the process. Our panels look great and we are enjoying watching the energy savings roll in!

which concerned ruthless aluminum siding salesmen in the 50s (based on Baltimore FormStone salespeople), Renewable sent out a "Marketing Director"- NOT a salesman, because they didn't have a footprint in Federal Hill. If we would work with them, we would get a 30% discount- but don't tell our neighbors, since the price wouldn't be matched. All we had to do was to be willing to put in a few good reviews, and provide references as required. 30% of a ridiculously inflated number which was 15000 higher than the next lowest bid. At the end, even with the "discount", the system was the most expensive one we priced, with the least power, and an inflated estimate of the percent offset of our electric bill. We were also told we would need to upgrade our electrical panel (costing 2000- 4000) to be up to code, which turns out to have been false. I'm not one to write negative reviews, but I wish I had read the one below, in which someone seems to have had the same experience. Hmm.

Renewable Energy Corporation was amazing throughout the entire solar installation process. They were extremely professional, efficient and personable, especially Ciara in the office. She was always willing to take the time to provide us with updates throughout the permitting and inspection process. I highly recommend Renewable Energy Corp to anyone who is thinking about going green!

Solar even in a wooded area

I live in a wooded area and wanted solar as the power goes out often in my neighborhood. Renewable Energy did not reject my home as a solar candidate but offered low light panels. The day after installation was completed our neighborhood lost power. It was really nice to still have lights, microwave, etc.

Professional and Caring

Renewable Energy was the second company I spoke with about solar panels and I was very pleased with each individual I worked with. The consultant was very knowledgeable and the company did all of the research and communication with my energy company and HOA keeping me in the loop the entire time. The process was a little lengthy to be expected but not on the fault of Renewable Energy they were very patient and professional from start to finish. Even with a minor hiccup they fixed the issue in a matter of days. I would recommend Renewable Energy to all my friends, family and neighbors.

Excellent Company, Excellent Experience!

This year we decided to add a solar system to our home, so we contacted Renewable Energy Corp (REC) to get an estimate. Their sales representative came to our home and walked us through the process, technology, products, and services they provide. After surveying our home’s installation site and checked the availability of direct sunlight over the course of a day at our location, they provided an estimate that we accepted for a 6kw system. The installation was then scheduled and took two days to complete. REC did all the engineering work, permitting, lined up the county inspection, power company inspection, which included the installation of a new digital meter. They hooked up our WIFI to the solar panel’s microinverter monitoring system and provided us with a smartphone app that enabled us to monitor the energy we were collecting from the sun, which enabled us to start to see the savings! All went very smoothly and quickly to complete the project. They facilitated the application to SREC and provided a closeout package that included the Maryland state subsidy application (all pre-filled out by REC), and IRS guidance on the federal tax credit process. It was a complete turn-key project from start to finish and we was very pleased that REC did everything for us. The quality of their work was top notch and very thorough. They really made sure that we would be 100% satisfied. I am very happy with REC and their personnel who guided us through the whole project before, during and after installation, which elevated my confidence and trust in them. Best decision we've made

The entire process was easy, from the owner Shawn Mcneill ,the sales rep Kyle Murphu to the installers they were very professionals. As for the Installation the Installers were very Knowledgeable and very engage with us answering every question we asked. The installation process was quick and clean. They are very easy to talk to and will answer all of your questions and return your calls in a timely manner. If you are thinking about getting a solar system for your home give Renewable Energy Corporation, you wont regret it.

Felt like car salesman

I chose to cancel my agreement with REC after they failed to provide me with the details (number of panels, design) in the wake of the visit by the pushy salesmen who claimed we were getting special pricing and had to sign NOW, or the deal wasn't available the next day. Perhaps it was the truth that I was 1st in my zip code and it was a discounted price (but still not less than other quotes I got), regardless I felt like I had a used car salesman hoodwink me into a solar system.
