After hooking up the system, they apparently forgot to notify DWP for several weeks, so the net meter was not installed right away (So I was giving DWP free electricity). Then, one of the units failed within the first month, and it took several weeks for a replacement to arrive. Today, I noticed that although the units are working, the meter is not recording them, so I have to call a different contractor to come out and check the wiring. I will NOT use Mediterranean again, as they are attempting to charge for a different issue that they did not resolve, but want to be paid for anyway.
Getting electricity from sunlight used to be science fiction. Not anymore. The sooner you do it, the sooner it pays for itself. With a great contractor like Mediterranean, it is easier than you think. They were so great I had them install solar hot water for the home and solar heating for the pool. Their workmanship and materials were absolute tops, their price was a great value as well.
The better the contractor, the easier the process goes. Mediterranean knew more about the developments in terms of rebates and tax credits than the LADWP did. Overall, they handled every question and made it so easy and now the system produces all the pure, clean energy my (rather large) house could ever use.
