They originally installed my system approximately 5 years ago. Has worked great but I wanted to add a few more panels.

It is truly said that the quality and professionalism of an organization is best measured in how they address problems after the initial sale and installation. The initial installation of our solar system was performed by CM Solar Electric in February of 2016. The installation went smoothly, and we were very satisfied with the results. We especially appreciated the communication and support we received from Carlos (owner) and Brandon (chief electrician). They immediately addressed and resolved any issues that occurred during the installation and certification process. Our solar system operated perfectly until February of 2021 when we experienced a failure of the solar inverter. I contacted CM Solar Electric and explained the symptoms we were experiencing. Carlos immediately contacted me and had his team, led by Brandon, analyze the root cause of the problem, contact the manufacturer of the inverter, and arrange for the shipment of a replacement unit. Since the inverter was under warranty, there was no cost for the replacement. Carlos monitored the progress of the repair efforts to ensure a rapid replacement an integration of the new inverter into our system. Brandon was, as always, a pleasure to work with. He kept us informed of our job’s status, explained what was being done to remedy the situation, and ensured the repair process was executed efficiently. I am extremely pleased with the performance and professionalism of CM Solar Electric, and would not hesitate to recommend them to provide solar system installation and maintenance.

I got a recommendation from a friend to use CM Solar and I was sceptical because most of the other vendors gave me the impression that this area is wild and that you can't trust anyone. From the very first moment that we start to discuss the opportunity, it was very clear that these guys are different. They are professional, fairs in terms of business and above all, they are reliable. There are many areas that the vendors can cut corners, save money and sometimes even reduce the cost BUT since the solar system is something that should work for years, cutting corners is not the right way to go. The offer that I got from CM Solar was competitive but my impression is that they gave me the right solution, on a very aggressive schedule and without compromising on the quality.

CM Solar Electric sold me on price and quality of the solar panels. Installation took two days, and was performed professional. My questions were answered to my satisfaction. During the inspection, by the county, I heard the inspector say "you guys do good work". The inspector took only five minutes to complete his inspection.

We were impressed early in the process because Jorge brought an installer who measured our roof to verify that 19 panels would fit to give us the 6.8kW we needed. Other companies sent out a salesman with a catalog and a quote for a straw-man installation of X or Y panels with no measurements, no details, and no roof visit (they would measure and firm up the details - and the price, presumably - after acceptance). Jorge briefed me over 30-minutes on every detail of the installation process. He suggested a Canadian panel with exactly the same performance specs and warranty as the more expensive Korean panel, He referred me to detailed specification for all proposed components; panel, inverter, convertor, etc. so I could review and compare to other candidates. Or not, as I chose. And Jorge gave me a firm fixed-price quote on his first visit. But the best part of my story is about the roof-penetrations. After signing the fixed-price contract, I discovered to my horror that our 20-year roof warranty required a specific roof-penetration procedure different from the one specified in my contract. Unless I wanted to accept Jorge's 10-year roof warranty, I was obliged to contract that part of the project with my roofer who had just installed our new roof the previous year. This problem was entirely my responsibility. But Jorge not only worked with us to coordinate with my roofer's installation team, he reduced our firm fixed-price by the cost of the roof penetration hardware that was no longer required. Despite the fixed-price terms. Awesome!

These guys are the best. They did my brother's house in Lake Arrowhead, and just like his, when they did my plan and install here in Irvine it could not have gone smoother, including help with the application to my homeowner's association. Brandon and the install crew were organized and fast. Couldn't have asked for a better experience all around.

Jorge Vasquez was outstanding from our first meeting to the final acceptance. He sat down and heard what we wanted in upgrades to our home and worked with us to make them happen. Along with the solar install we had a whole home fan installed and roof paper replaced when found to be in poor condition during initial inspection.

They willingly took on a non-standard installation. Work looks clean and solid. Functioning for over 9 months. Responded within 24hrs when I notified them a fault had occurred and they fixed it on first visit. Has just about wiped out my electric bill.

From start to finish, CM Solar was a pleasure to work with. My first contact with CM Solar was Jorge. Such a pleasant, patient, professional informative "sales man". I put "sales man" in quotes because, unlike many other solar companies I dealt with, he didn't try to sell me anything. He informed me. It was pleasant, educational, and easy. Next up was Martin and his team. We had a new roof installed prior to solar installation. This is one of the hardest working teams I have ever seen. There were days when they worked from 8 in the morning until 7 at night with only a brief break for lunch. Martin is also a very caring and thorough individual, proven by the fact that he fixed items that were not within the scope of work, just so he could help us out. He cares about the work that he does and it is truly visible. And lastly was Brandon and Bobby. Brandon and Bobby were responsible for design and installation. They both did an amazing job. The panels, wires, pipes, inverter, etc. all look clean, tidy, and don't take away from the look of our house at all. They made sure everything was up and running just as promised. And I can't forget to mention Su. Su worked in the office at CM Solar. She was quick to contact me as soon as my contract was signed...and she was quick to respond to any questions I had. I spent 2 months researching solar companies before I selected CM Solar. I honestly don't have a single complaint or issue. Couldn't come up with one even if I really, really tried. They were professional, pleasant, efficient, and delivered a better than expected product and service while beating my timeline at a price that was better than all of the other companies I considered. We were interested in going solar, but had some bad experiences with some other solar representatives. We found CM Solar through energysage.com. Jorge came out and talked us through everything. He was helpful and not pushy. We ended up choosing CM Solar because of the personal service they said they would supply and they delivered! The offered a great price and great service. Su kept us informed through the entire process. They did each and every thing they said they would do along the way and with exceptional service. We signed our contract June 1 and were fully operational on June 27th. We highly recommend CM Solar Electric.

I wanted to install Solar for a long time, but my roof was about 20yrs old and I knew that a new roof had to be factored in. From the start, CM Solar offered both of those services. Having never worked with them, I did my due diligence, and met with 3 other companies. I took the double leap of faith and I'm glad I did. Quickly found their roofer, Martin was an ace. I also had him also replace all the plywood, the fascia around the roof, and a whole new gutter system. All top notch work, with an extra detail across the ridge line to add some street appeal. I wanted to increase attic ventilation. Martin added nice looking very low profile vents and the roof > solar co-ordination allowed him to place under the solar panels so you can't even see them. They added a layer of insulation into the roofing material that didn't exist before, and the solar mounts were placed during the roofing process. The electrical crew was next and did a top commercial quality job on my home. As a contractor, I see these installations all the time, and this one was done really well and not without complications. The main service breaker panel and SDGE entry needed to be updated in my older home. 4 charismatic guys involved and everything was discussed along the way, no surprises. They did their work quickly without cutting corners or quality. I also had them do a whole house ventilation fan and just time time for the summer heat, which turned out way better than expected. One speed bump in the job, thrown at us – then retracted by the city inspector, wound up proving to me that Carlos is an honorable person and company owner to do business with. I hope to have them install a hybrid water heater before the tax credit runs out. On the other hand, can't say how long before the novelty runs out on picking up my phone and seeing how much my plant is producing. But it's also reassuring that the only thing that will be leaking down from the roof will be dollars $$. Giving them 5 stars for this project.

I originally chose CM Electric as my solar system provider because they quoted the lowest cost per installed watt and included, as an extra, an inverter that provides secure power when the grid is down while the sun is shining. But in addition to doing everything they said they would, CM Electric provided other important value added benefits. These included: • Correct sequencing of work activities that resulted in online operation of my system 41 days after I signed the contract. • Craftsman style installation that passed San Diego City inspection the first time. • Same day response to a poor connection in a breaker box. • Monitoring and prompt correction of Ethernet connection issues. Carlos Renteria owns this local company, and along with his brother Manny, they focus on excellent customer service and short response times that larger companies just don’t care to provide. My solar installation has now been in operation for more than 5 months. It has worked flawlessly. And there weren’t any leaks when it finally rained. Overall couldn't be happier! There is a lot of information and decisions to be made when buying and installing solar. I was quoted by seven local companies through Energy Sage and CM had very competitive rates and their reviews were solid. Jorge, our project manager was extremely responsive and answered all our questions through the whole process to include financing, install and going through all the hoops that sdge and the city make you jump through. After I was quoted on our job I did extensive research on the equipment they were proposing and was extremely pleased with the quality of products and cutting edge technology they put into their systems. They won't sell you low end products nor will they try to sell you anything you don't need. The install team was very professional and their workmanship was top notch. I would highly recommend this company to anyone entertaining buying solar for their home. Side note, I was informed they would most likely break some tiles on my roof which they did and replaced along with a dozen other tiles that were broken from solar leasing companies that we had previously entertained. After extensive research this is standard with all installs, expect it if you have clay or ceramic tiles.

Three weeks after contract signed, they determined that my electric panel was not adequate and I needed to spend another $2K on a 200 amp panel. I had another electric contractor check it out, and they determined that existing panel was adequate. It then took C M another three weeks to conclude that they were wrong. When they did the installation of panels, they broke more than 50 cement tiles on my roof, but they did replace them once confronted with the damage their installers did. The tile replacement took place after the city and SDGE had approved the solar installation; and their workman switched off the solar (on the roof) when they did their replacement work. They FORGOT to turn it back on and I went two more weeks without any solar power. Very bad workmanship enabled by bad management! Avoid them like the Plague ! !

We went with CM Solar Electric for my Rooftop Solar PV system and installation and we're glad we did. Manny and his brother Carlos really know their stuff and they have a "no pressure" sales pitch unlike the other Companies. By all means do your homework and get several quotes but make sure you get one from CM Solar Electric. Being a small, local company they are able to keep their prices down to give you the best deal and installed our system for a lot less than other installers quoted for the same system with the same specs. Their installers were professional and courteous and they did a great job. I'm very happy with the quality and performance of the system.

I have had this company design and install a solar system for my home. While the work was finally completed, there were so many, many, many issues in working with this company. I could not rate this company low enough. Of the dozens of companies I have worked with for home service (3 homes over a couple of decades), this company is by far the worse. They say one thing and do another. They do not hold to any kind of schedule. Their guidance with the associated ygrene financing was wrong, costing us $1000+ more dollars than they stated. Their designers for the system did not take into account our requests initially. The longest delays were on their behalf, not the city inspections as they kept on saying. I could go on and on about the numerous issues, and provide all the documentation to support these claims. But given this is a simple website to rate companies, I can simply recommend to stay away from this company at all costs. And to top it all off, after weeks of project completion, and multiple requests, they still have not refunded the initial deposit that they owe us, per our contract. I have even gone so far to file a complaint with the BBB regarding this and waiting to get a resolution.

CM Solar Electric is extremely professional and efficient. They installed my solar panels quickly and provided timely information during and after installation. My recommendation is to obtain several bids, such as I did, but most likely you will not find a better deal. They are a smaller company with less overhead, much experience and stand by manufacturers warranty.

This local Solar Company was amazing! No big ego just plain and simple cost savings and energy efficiency! They installed an amazing Kyocera Solar system, a central fan exhaust system and retrofitted all of my Can Light LEDs! My house is now energy green! I just received my first SDGE and it read "No payment required"!!! No subcontractors on my house! Their crew self performed all the work with the very best quality and professionalism! I loved the fact that Manny was around during the install and after the install! If you want the best local company don't look twice! Four of my friends already installed the whole house fan and they love it!!! These guys even hooked up my outdoor string lights to my Pentair Pool system! They will be doing my cameras on the next job!!!

Had them do a job through a broker. There work was excellent. Really liked the attention to detail like painting all the tubing the same color of the house and cleaning up after each day. Would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to family or friends. Really liked that they were a local company.

We added to our current array. Installation was begun as soon as the contract was signed, and was complete in 2 days. The installation team was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The only issue was getting the city to complete the inspection, which took almost a month.

We needed to add more solar panels to our current array. We called a whole bunch of companies who would not even look our way without removing our current system and replacing it with theirs. Nobody would even entertain the idea of integrating more panels into an existing system. Almost ready to give up, we called CM Solar and they said that they specialize in solar integrations. Perfect! They came out and inspected the current system and drew up plans for the integration. The install stayed in budget and was done in a timely manner. The team was very knowledgable and friendly. Even when a software glitch affected the integration, they came back and fixed it without issue. I would highly recommend CM Solar to anybody looking to integrate or install a solar system.

Carlos was very knowledgable and professional. His guys are extremely professional, respectful and hard working. They know their stuff. So helpful and took the time to explain everything. CM Electric is even there for you after the install to answer questions and help you understand your system. Great company to work with!!

My solar system was originally installed in 2010 by Egg Solar. The ratings below are associated with work performed by CM Solar Electric this year, 2014. This year 2014 CM Solar Electric has taken over the care and maintenance for my system. I am very pleased with the service provided by CM Solar Electric. They are responsive, answer my phone calls and emails. The work they performed for me this past July 2014 was done as promised, on time and quality workmanship. All of their staff has been very professional and helpful to me as a solar system owner.

The installation was completed on time. The installation crew was very professional they clean up after them self. The city inspector was impress with the quality of the work and he stated it was one of the better installation he has seem. They completed the task (and it was more than just solar panels)we decided to go all energy efficient electric, they replaced water heater, dryer and installed a whole house fan, all this and they corrected some bad wiring we had in 4 ceiling fans in one week! the inspector came out one day later and now we are just waiting for SDGE to put us on the grid, my neighbor who went with other company that is no cost to buyer and they become the power company for 20 years (that makes no sense at all!!)had his panels up right away weeks before us(so they couldn't cancel) and they are still not commected and no inspector yet. CM workers worked on my project from sun up to sundown (litteraly it was dark outside and they needed flashlights!). Very happy with them and their communication skills!
