I went thru 13 different solar companies including Baker, Sunrun, Solar City and a handful of others. Several were former Solar City Employees.- they did not speak highly of Solar City's contracts. . It seems almost all only offer 2 plans, Lease or Buy. Few mention the option if they offer it of a PER-paid lease. Saves over 50% of the purchase price. and With this 20 year one time payment. your equipment is still maintained 10-15 years down the line. when the Inverter goes bad. { If you buy it ( most have a 10 yr Warr.) you are on the hook for replacement and labor.} Sungevity did have some installation in the growing stages as they could not find good workers. it got much better now.
Many Solar companies try to get you to BUY to get the 30% credit., If you don't spend the extra to buy, you don't need the credit. The Credit is only on the next 2 years tax return. NEVER back as cash. You still pay Full price to the Solar company.... read more
