I've been doing a lot of solar bids this last year or two trying to find a reasonable price (I've done the homework to determine how much the equipment should cost so just needed a realistic price for the job. Many quotes were so far out of line I just shook my head and said thanks but no thanks. Then last year, a friend, who knows I've been researching this, called and shared his quote from gold rush wanting my opinion. This was literally the first quote where the total equipment/labor costs weren't astronomical. I suggested he sign the contract. Now, a year later, his daughter has gold rush solar system on her house as well. So, I decided to call and get a quote when I had some extra investment money laying around. Spoke to Ben who went over everything on the phone; pro/cons on equipment options, etc. Then, without visiting the house, he provided comprehensive quote that was bargain compared to every other quote I've received to date. After a few communications back and forth I signed the contracts from the comfort of my home (docusign) and we were scheduled to go! Katie called to confirm the schedule a few days later and when the day arrived, they were at my door at exactly the prescribed time. Over 2 or 3 different days, everything was wrapped up and running! As a perspective on their responsiveness, I had a minor aesthetics issue that I wrestled over whether to ask them to correct. Thinking more about how professional everything else looked, I sent a note to katie at 3am (I don't sleep much) and there was a tech at my door at 8am that day who promptly fixed it. I've been so impressed with this company that my daughter and son in law are getting a quote for the house in the coming weeks. Also for those outside of El Dorado, they manage projects some distance away as my house is in Martinez and they went to San Jose after my stop for another project.
