In November 2016 I installed a sunpower system. I bought a x -series 22 panels 370 watt each. I bought them just for a reason that they promised there panels will produce more power than any other panels on a market. In my first year 2017 my solar system produced 8000 kWh of electricity. I was pretty happy. Then on my second year system produced 7500 kWh of electricity , ok I thought may be in 2017 we had more clouds not as sunny year as 2018, but when in 2015 my system produced only 5500 kWh of electricity then I decided that something wrong with a system and called my dealer. Technician came in and checked the system and said that sunpower will monitor the system and they will tell me if something is wrong with it. So I have been waiting for 2 weeks and nobody called me. So I called sunpower and they said that they will replace all my micro inverters but when I asked them WHEN is that gonna happen they wouldn't give me a clear answer. The only thing he said is that he needs an approval from upper engineer and then they will contact my dealer after that they will ship micro inverters and after that schedule an installation. How long an approval gonna take? No clear answer. So if I want a new system installed they have it today, but if they have to be changed than it will take many months. I want to expand my system and add another 6kw to my existing because I wanna buy an electric car. And 6kw system should produce enough electricity for my round trip commute to work and back every day. At this point I don’t know if I would go with sunpower again depends how they fix an existing system.
