Very professional, but some logistical issues

GPE was the most professional of the multiple installers I received quotes from. I am happy with the quality of their work (so far, knocking on wood!). However, my install ran into several issues that resulted in VERY lengthy delays. I was promised a 4-5 month install process from contract signing. It ended up taking 10+ months.<br /><br />We encountered 2 issues that I have problems with:<br />1. They installed the incorrect panels. Same brand but different model. I was lucky to have caught this (only because my warranty certification showed a model # different from the one on my contract), and after discussing it with their staff (and President), they rectified the problem by giving a new price commensurate to the energy production lost due to smaller capacity panels. <br />2. GPE submitted the proper permit applications to the town and to PSEG. However, the approval process was taking longer than usual, so I asked GPE multiple times to follow up with PSEG - which they said that had. This turned out to be a lie, since months later we learned that the reason for the delay was because PSEG had actually misplaced my application. I understand that it wasn't GPE's fault that PSEG lost the application. But 2 months of delays could have easily been avoided if GPE had simply followed up with PSEG as I asked. The fact that they lied to me about following-up with them made it even more upsetting. I asked for some recourse, but they refused since they said it was PSEG's fault for losing the initial application.<br /><br />In the end, I've been happy with every interaction I've had with GPE, even when discussing the above problems, as they are very professional and seem like they have solid back-office support. The quality of their installation work seems very good as well. However the above issues (particularly #2) left a sour taste.

With regard to the timeline of your project, it definitely took longer than our typical installation. As you stated in your review, the delay with PSE&G would have never happened if PSE&G didn’t lose your paperwork. It is in our mutual interest to speed the project up as quickly as we can and we will follow up even more with them going forward.
