Big EMPTY Promises

We started the installation process with Tesla in August of 2017. After some back and forth with designing the system that would fit our needs, we then moved into contract and financing. Our Tesla rep told us the whole process would take about 2-3 months start to finish so we were expecting installation to be done and the system turned on before the end of the year. <br /><br />The installation process was a nightmare. Tesla sent numerous people out multiple times to do the same "system check" over and over. Once the system was finally installed, the inspection process began which was another nightmare cycle. Tesla didn't install the solar panel in the proper place in relation to our gas line - in order to rectify this, they demanded we pay the +$6,000 fee to have the panel moved, which would never have happened if they took the time to do it right the first time.<br /><br />As of September 2018, over 14 months later, the system was inoperable because Tesla failed to install the system correctly. Two different reps at Tesla reassured us that Tesla would reimburse us for the cost of the system and electrical bills for the time the system was inoperable. A Month later, we are still awaiting a response. <br /><br />Tesla often took over 3 weeks to respond to emails. Multiple members of their staff were on the chain but no one took any initiative to rectify the situation until we escalated it. What does it take to get some basic customer service? We went with Tesla because they put on this facade that they're a great and reliable company, when in fact, they're a huge mess. They cut corners and the different departments don't talk to each other so we were always getting conflicting info. <br /><br />I'd give them a negative star if I could. Take your business elsewhere!
