Blue Raven - shady business practices

Super, super disappointed. Blue Raven uses a business model that builds a reduction in electrical usage into their estimates. On mine, they added a 27% reduction in electrical usage by adding 12 LED bulbs and a smart thermostat. So, I now have panels on my roof that equal about 72% of my total usage. The problem with their design for my house, is that nobody told me this. I have had a smart thermostat and 100% LED bulbs for years now. The design they sent does not discuss this, and nobody bothered to talk to me about it. The first I knew about the "energy kit" was when the installer handed me 12 LED bulbs. I never even received the smart thermostat at all. Now they want me to add 5 more panels to my current 10 panels. The quote for this was more then 1/2 of the previous install, even though the system is wired and operating currently. In addition, the install team left a handful of nails, screws, wires, and conduit on my roof. In repeated conversations with their team, I still have no answer to why this happened, and frankly appears to be a bait and switch technique to get their consumers to have to add panels to their initial install. If you are researching solar companies, I'd strongly advise you to stay away from Blue Raven.

Tim - I'm glad to see that members of our team have been able to work with you recently. I see that you've decided to not add panels at this time but that in three months we'll be meeting up again to confirm production. At that time we can see what you would like to do, if anything. Thanks for the comments Joseph. Nobody has called to work with me on the actual issue. They called to see if my production was working as designed. It is. I'm perfectly happy with the production that is ON my roof. The problem is... Blue Raven designed a system that was much too small. This was sold to me as a system that would cover 100% of my electricity usage. It doesn't. Not even close. It was grossly misrepresented in the sales process, and the only way for me to fix it is to pay 50% more money to add 50% more panels. Not a good solution. I'll continue to pay the power company a sizable bill each month, in addition to paying for my solar panels. It costs me quite a bit more money then my pre-solar bill.
