We had been considering adding solar for a couple of years and finally started to get serious in Spring 2013. Washington State had two great incentives (no sales tax and generous production credit) and a local company (Silicon Energy) produced unique panels that were architecturally very attractive. SiE recommended Artisan but we also got 3 other bids. Artisan won the job based on price, experience and responsiveness. In mid-2013 the state legislature was monkeying with the incentives and it looked like we might lose some on June 30th so Artisan worked really had to get our equipment delivered before June 30th so we wouldn't lose out. (Turned out that threat didn't materialize.) The install went beautifully and the crew was very responsive to our needs. Now 6 years in the system continues to perform well. They installed an eGauge monitoring unit that is fantastic. It even diagnosed a partial failure in our line service when a connection failed at the street and we lost one of the two 110V lines (connector failure). We haven't had to pay for any electricity since the install. Also, Artisan has been very active in the state working to preserve and improve the incentives to help move us to greater use of solar.
