Dishonest Company

**** AVOID BLUE RAVEN AT ALL COST ****
If you are thinking about going solar stay far away from this dishonest business.

They offered a “production guarantee” that the system they will install will be sufficient enough for our household. Three months later and after doing quite a bit of research, they only installed a 4.72kwp solar array where others would have installed a higher capacity system for the same price. What they installed is obviously not sufficient so now we end up paying for the solar loan on top of our power bill which defeats the whole purpose of going solar!

After confirming with our power company that the system does not even send back excess energy back to the grid to accrue net meter credit, we tried to reach them via phone and they had the nerve to tell us that we have been using excess energy. We already installed the smart thermostat and led light bulbs that they provided during the install to cut down our energy use up to 20% (as they said). We even reduced our AC cooling temperature significantly but the system is just not enough.
After contacting them to let them know about the issue they sent us a quote for additional panels for an ADDED COST. They promised us that they will install additional panels if the initial install is not adequate as part of the “production guarantee”. Other solar installers would have done a proper assessment and installed the correct solar array in the first place and would have honored their initial quote.

We tried escalating the issue to their senior management but never heard anything back, no callback, email, or even a courtesy reply to let us know that they received our correspondence.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BLUE RAVEN as they are very dishonest and will stop responding to your messages once they get your money. They will, however, work very hard to get more $$$ from you, as THEY WILL OVERPROMISE AND UNDER-DELIVER to squeeze more cash from families looking to switch to sustainable energy.

Go look at their Better Business Bureau profile and see for yourself!

J - It looks like there’s been a misunderstanding around net metering. Since your system was installed during May, you haven't had an opportunity to build up the necessary utility credits to offset your power bill. Utility credits are generally produced during the spring and fall when the days are still long, but AC usage is down. With your system being so new, you haven't hit this credit production cycle in the year yet. A larger system would have meant purchasing additional panels that would have been impactful for only the first few months before entering the credit cycle. We understand that having a utility bill during this energy transition can be frustrating, which is one reason you were included in the Blue Power Plus promotion for 18 months of free solar power. This lets you go solar and enter the credit cycle without worrying about your solar loan for 18 months. Your system has been producing since May 18, 2018 and has produced within 99% of the kWh expected at this point in the year. Besides entering the credit cycle, additional energy usage falls outside your guaranteed production and doesn't reflect a shortcoming on your system or our calculations. We designed a 4.72 kW system to meet the energy needs you provided us at the beginning of the sales process. As long as you don’t use more energy than previous seasons, your system will offset your utility consumption once you enter the credit cycle. It just needs some time. Solar panels are a long-term investment and we make the annual production guarantee clear in our sales materials and contracts. We will continue to honor the guarantee and ensure that your system is working effectively for you and your family. If you would like to discuss this further, you can reach me, Joseph, at 855-205-2530.
