Three years ago we had who was then the top related solar installer in MA quote us using only Google satellite imagery for dimensions. Luckily we did not go with them. This year we contacted Boston Solar who sent out someone who not only got on the roof to measure dimensions and angles but crawled into our attic to determine that the areas we wanted the panels would support them. Turns out some areas the first company would have put panels did not have the proper support joists in place.<br /><br />The entire process with Boston Solar has been excellent, from the initial sales call to installation and the office support. From the completion of installation to activation was 7 weeks which is very good considering one of the weeks was July 4th when nothing happens plus delays by our towns inspection department. Bottom line is I am recommending without reservation anyone who wants to go solar to contact Boston Solar.

Regarding the 7 week install to activation time, this is actually a bit longer than our usual target, but as you mentioned there can be delays due to holidays or other factors outside our control.
