A Five Star Event for Us

For those of you who are interested in transitioning to Solar Energy, read about what a former skeptic has to say about our experience educating ourselves in the area of solar energy and then finally participating in a low cost/no cost installation program with Trinity Solar. Fifty percent of my reticence to do this project came from a few bad past experiences with other projects that did not run smoothly at all.

I was also skeptical about switching over to solar energy because I did not have all the facts. A sales representative from Trinity Solar, Ethan Marvel Requardt contacted us about six weeks ago and made an appoint to discuss the facts about solar energy and a program in Massachusetts that made installation of solar panels a virtually free option at this time. I wrote up comments about this exceptional young man and posted it on this web site, I believe. So it is no secret that Ethan is an asset to Trinity. What I am saying is that if someone who is intelligent, knowledgeable about solar energy, has a way of breaking down the economics into understandable chunks, is patient with people who need a slow, planned approach to the financial piece, and was gentle and respectful as Ethan was, most of the fear about this type of conversion would be much less of a problem. We were delighted with our salesperson and it made this phase of planning much less anxiety provoking than I expected it to be.

Today, I want to speak about part 2 of our project—The Installation. First, I want to name the installation team of four as an amazing group of men: Todd, Team Leader, Mark, Rick and Jonathan. Again, I have to say that Todd and his crew were every bit gentlemen. Todd was polite and knowledgeable He explained every phase of the installation and he coordinated his team so that everyone, including himself, was doing what they were supposed to do in an orderly efficient fashion-- and they did all this in spite of working on the TWO HOTTEST days of the summer so far. They worked from the moment they arrived (always before 8 a.m.) and left at the end of their day. They worked safely, efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves before they left each day. Todd was on top of all the safety issues both for his crew and safety of the public. He let us know why he was arranging ladders the way he was in order to implement OSHA requirements for our safety and the safety of the public passing my the work site. It was clear that SAFETY was at the top of their concerns. Todd explained to me the workings of the panels and all the other electronics that were being attached to the house. I can say that their team ran like a well-oiled machine.

I am sure that Trinity Solar understands that people form their opinion about the company based almost entirely on their experience of the people that they send out to sell the program and to install the product. So, one would think that when these people are picked for their jobs that those doing the hiring were exceedingly mindful of this fact. So, Trinity, I have to give you a great big “Atta Boy”. The only opinion we could form by this experience with Trinity would be to give you a five star out five start rating because that is how we feel about the quality of our salesperson and that is how we feel about the quality of our installers, headed by Todd.

I do have to mention that there were minor delays in the project that can be chalked up to issues related to building inspections and the protocols put in place by the owners of the electrical grid whose power lines we will be using. NONE of the delays were due to problems with Trinity. Their work was scheduled with us and done as per their schedule and on time..

This project, for us, turned out to be a five star event all around: we the customer, your salesperson, your crack installation team, and Trinity management. Trinity management seems to be very aware that their reputation as a company is made primarily by those who represent them. Sending the best to us and all their customers is the result of good management and, to me, marks a five star company!!

Roger & Rhanee Simon, Longmeadow!
