No fuss, no muss, no waste

I did serious research before contacting Celestial, and it paid off. <br />My actual experience was even better than I had expected. <br />First, and most important, Jim Reilly tells you the truth. No spin or bs. My roof was 18 years old, and guaranteed only for 20 years. Despite my insistence, he refused to take the job unless the roof was replaced because (as I confirmed with others) the solar panels are guaranteed for 25 years and the installation wouldn't be cost-effective. He could have just mentioned the issue, and then gone ahead and taken his profit from the installation. (Celestial doesn't do roofing.) So, I decided to get a new roof (from another outfit) and his crew installed 40 solar panels. Also, I had suggested installing additional panels on another part of the roof; he could have done so and pocketed the extra money, but explained that it wouldn't be cost-effective owing to the unfavorable exposure. <br />Second, his cost was reasonable and, after the 30% federal subsidy, significantly less than I expected. (The tax wrinkle is important here, because the TOTAL cost of the new roof and the solar panels is eligible for the Federal 30% subsidy. In effect, I got 30% off on both the roof and the panels.) <br />Third, the timing and handling of the installation were perfect. Celestial coordinated closely with the roofer, there was a minimum of disruption and noise, and the entire job -- new roof and solar panels – was done in 5 working days, despite some brutally cold weather.<br />Finally, Celestial takes care of all the paperwork and interaction with the power company. A few electronic signatures on applications and permits is all I had to do.<br />Solar panels are not for every house, but Jim Reilly will tell you honestly. (In my case, they cut the electric bill by 40% in the first month). If you decide to go ahead, I cannot imagine a better provider than Celestial.
