A retrospect of installation and the first year

I contacted Artisan Electric because of a smaller project of installing electric car charger. When they came and looked at it, we started talking solar. We were looking into solar for some time, but thoughts it was just not the high priority. The forecast from Artisan demonstrated a return of investment of 7 years and in addition showed us a way for financing of the project.

I do not write reviews few weeks after the project is done because I want to wait a year how the "stuff" works and if it holds promises. So here is the detailed report of the first year:

Installation:
We actually did a larger project that included replacement of the main panel, installation of a sub-panel, installation of car changing station, and roof solar with 22 panels and inverter both made in WA state.

Planing was straight forward and we discussed details including all of the runs of different conduits for cables, etc. It took us about an hour onsite to go over all details.

first the material was delivered onsite and then the installation team showed for work on time every day. They work quickly and very clean. Even with the double panel replacement and installation our power was not off more than few hours. We had two small lack of mistakes in the installation (one was wrong receptacle and the other was detailed run of a conduit in the garage) that were corrected within hours and without problems. The work was finished on time. Artisan made sure to run the right permits and our system was online in days.

In the following days other solar owners stopped by to inquire about details and all were surprised about the "beauty" of the installation. Everything was labeled, and all was extremely clean.

Then of course the season went on... Starting late August we came through fall, winter, spring, and now finally summer. We had one occasion where the inverter threw an error. Artisan was on-site working with the inverted vendor to identify the problem. It was a "daily fluke" and everything was o.k. on the next day. Still they followed up regularly for almost a month.

In summary, I could not be happier. We produced over 94% of our electric power needs (including car charging) from solar. Remote monitoring allows for detailed control (and is included with installation). Even when I am traveling around the world I can see the status of the system. It is actually so good that I can read from it the weather (including solar eclipse) :)

I can only recommend Artisan for solar and car charging installation. I am so happy that I will gladly be a reference for anyone approaching.
