Carlo's Review

Where do I begin. Well, let's start with Solaroo is a great company to do business with. I am totally satisfied with the installation and how it has performed so far. Granted, it has been only a week since we were commissioned, but so far so good. It seems to be performing as advertised.

Before I get to far into this review, let me say that deciding to ad Solar to your residence is a rather long and involved process and is not like deciding to a new deck or patio to you home. Besides determining which Solar company to go with and doing the research to figure that out, the entire process is quite lengthy. Once you decide who is going to install your system, there is a rather lengthy permit process required and that amount of time varies depending upon what city you live in. After the permit is granted, the installers have to schedule when to install your system which can take several weeks after the permit is granted. The actual installation time is quite quick and efficient and in our case, took less than one day. After the physical install is completed, the city now has to schedule a time to come out and inspect the installation to ensure it meets code. This took almost three weeks in my case. Once you have passed the inspection, the power company has to schedule an electrical meter swap out to a new "new meter". This takes another two weeks of so to get this scheduled. Then when the net meter is installed, you have to schedule commissioning of the system with your Solar company, Solaroo in my case, to optimize the set up of you system. This took almost another week. However, I did receive instructions from Solaroo prior to the commissioning process on how to turn the system on and begin generation solar power. And, of course, if you are getting a new roof to support your new solar system, you have to factor that into the equation. That amount of time depends upon who you select and what their schedule is. I decided to go with Solaroo Roofing since it made a lot of sense to me, for obvious reasons, to use the same company that was going to install my Solar system to also install my roof. So, don't expect this entire process to be completed in a month or so. We started interviewing solar/roofing companies in April of this year and had our system commissioned on August 11th.

So, back to Solaroo. Since this was a major investment, I wanted to do it right and research all of my options and not jump right into a decision with the first solar company that came along. I also needed to replace my 25 year old roof so that figured significantly in the decision process. I reviewed over 10 solar and roofing companies before I settled on Solaroo. They were probably the most competitive price wise as well as offering a superior product for my solar system. After researching numerous solar panel manufacturers and inverters, Blair, my salesman recommended we go with the Panasonic 330 Watt panels. These panels are more powerful than what was offered by most of the other vendors and hence required fewer panels to produce the overall power output we were looking for. Some vendors were requiring over 30 panels on my roof to produce the 8 kw system I was looking for. With the Panasonic panels, we require 24 panels to deliver 7.92 kw of power. So, I appreciate Blair's recommendation to go with Panasonic.

The roofing installation took a little longer than I had expected, but they did a great job and it looks terrific. I can't say enough about the lead roofer since he was quite a gentleman and very professional in how he went about his work. Once the roof was done, the solar guys were out within two weeks. They arrived at my home early in the morning and were gone (complete) by 2;30 PM the same day. They, too, were very professional, courteous, neat, tidy, etc. I must say, everyone at Solaroo has been very professionals and very focused on making sure my satisfaction was part of their deliverables. From Blair (Sales), Nick, Mylee, Hannah, Kaden and all of the technicians/installers, their goal was to ensure I had a positive experience with the installation of my solar system. And I did. Thank you guys/ladies for a job well done. I will not hesitate to recommend you folks and Solaroo to anyone who is considering installation of a residential solar system.

**DISCLAIMER - Original review for Solaroo Energy**
