DON'T

From the beginning: the initial sales process was fairly easy, and I think that was the only part that was. We had our system installed in 2015. When the crew came out to install our system, they did not have our blueprint and chose what side of the house they thought the system was supposed to go on. They never asked my husband or myself who were both home at the time. They picked the wrong side, but we did not notice until they had already installed some of the panels. After a few phone calls we got them to install a second set of panels on the correct side of the house for a discount. After both systems were installed, we had to make a few service calls on them because they were producing error codes. After the first year things seemed to be okay. Fast forward to 2017 and one of our inverters is showing us a code consistently. I called Air Wind & Solar on more than one occasion trying to get someone to come out and look at our inverter. The first time I spoke with the installation manager, he said he would get someone out to look at it. That never happened. I then called 3 more times trying to find out when someone was going to come out, with no response. I eventually emailed a guy from the inverter company seeing if they could help somehow. They sent someone out who essentially told me that our whole system is completely unsafe. Nothing on our system is grounded; they used wire that is for inside use only and they put both of our inverters on one fuse when only one inverter should be. They said some of the wiring is held together with electrical tape. The code that the inverter is showing is a wiring code, it is saying that two wires are touching somewhere on the roof. We are now looking at having to have our whole system reinstalled (and pay a bunch more money) because they told me that it was a huge fire risk to even run our system right now. They also noticed that some of our panels are already discolored, which is also a big red flag. <br /><br />On the other side of things (the payment side) we have had a huge nightmare too. Initially, our new contact laid out a 2-year payment plan. Our contract was signed in March and we did not start making payments until the following December because we could not get anyone to set up our payments. It took multiple phone calls before we got the site that we could make our payments on. We have been making every payment and at this point our system should be close to paid off. When I called to ask how much was left on our contract, I was told that we still owed MORE than what our original contract was for. I asked how that was possible and was told they would “do some research and get back to me.” I waited a week and called back and was told that they still had not figured anything out but they would look into some more. That was over a month ago, and I still have heard nothing. Save yourself the time, money and headache and choose a different company. We have had nothing but problems and I wish there was an easy (and not expensive) fix to this. Lesson learned.
