Some misses, but mostly hits

Before deciding on who to go with for solar panels, I did my research; I consulted with an electrical engineer; I asked a lot of questions and I got a lot of quotes from multiple companies. I feel like I educated myself pretty well before making a decision and it was actually quite easy to decide to go with Auric.

The pros: Very knowledgeable salesperson in Shane White. He wasn't a recent college grad looking to earn a buck or two amid the recent solar energy boom. He knew his stuff inside and out, which wasn't the case with a few other companies I had met with.
The warranty was pretty standard, but the 10 year service/inspection contract was something that none of the other companies came close to and it was a big deal for me.
They have the latest technology. Some of the companies i met with were trying to up-charge dramatically for the latest micro inverters. Not Auric. It was a standard and their pricing was way better.
Fantastic customer service! (More on that in the "Cons" section.
18 months zero % financing is a no-brainer, but make sure you get specifics of how it works and what the key dates are. The post-install communication on this front was very limited.
Hopefully you won't need it, but if you ever have to reach out to customer service, ask for Summer T. She's an All Star in my book!

Cons: I really only have one major con, and it was a big one for me. Before I provide the details, I want to be clear that I don't think my situation was indicative of the majority of customers out there and their response to me was fast and furious and exactly what I was hoping for so they get major kudos for how they dealt with it. Here's the story: My initial estimate was for 43 solar panels, and pricing was quoted accordingly. When Auric completed the on-site measurements of my rooftop they concluded that they could only actually fit 35 panels. Fine, no issues there. I asked the sales person if I needed to sign an updated estimate with new pricing. He said to not worry about it b/c the pricing would automatically adjust when the final invoice was issued. Fast forward a year. I couldn't remember if the zero % financing was 12 months or 18 months so I decided to reach out to Auric to ask about it. I also realized that I had never seen a final invoice so I asked for that as well (which I thought was really odd). They provided the requested information and the final invoice. Out of curiosity I decided to compare my final invoice to the initial price estimate (that I luckily kept in a safe place) and to my shock and dismay I realized that the final invoice price for 35 panels vs. the originally quoted 43 panels was exactly the same. That translated into being charged roughly $11k more than I should have been charged!! YOWZA!! Luckily Auric's customer service is no joke and they took care of it in a remarkably nimble time frame and seemed very grateful for the feedback and concern, but I would recommend to everyone that they hang on to their initial estimate and make sure that the final invoice makes sense with what was actually installed. A year is an awful long time to remember what you agreed to and I can't help but wonder if there are some people out there that had a similar error and just never realized it.

Still a fantastic product at a reasonable price and the customer service is a major bonus!
