Actual Installation

When all the permitting was complete ASD called me they were coming to install the system. I asked if I needed to be there, they said no. Initially that was a mistake on my part, I should have been there.

When I got home they had bolted conduit all over the side of my house. (And after reading SDG&E's installation requirements it did not meet their specifications.) That evening I called every number I could find and told them if that was what they were going to do, take it out and forget the whole thing. They promised me it would be taken care of to my satisfaction.

The next day, Saturday the installers showed up to complete the work. I asked if they had been spoken to about my unhappiness. They replied no. My initial gut feeling was, oh no!! So I explained what I didn't like and the crew boss worked with me and they removed what I did not like and we worked together for a solution. We agreed to where the conduits would be run. They repaired the stucco where the conduit had first been located. Using Paint I had you can't tell or see the repairs. When the installation was complete I was and am completely satisfied.

What I thought to be outstanding was the installation crew. Without any notification from the calls I made, they corrected everything to my complete satisfaction without ANY negative comment, hesitation or reluctance.

Although I wish I had a larger system (if possible) for the summer air conditioning. My non-AC months my SDG&E bill is $9 to $15. I am completely satisfied with American Solar Direct. Sales, Installation and product quality. I have had the system almost 3 years at this writing and have not had any issues with it.
