I purchased a 10 kW ground mount system with no shading issues. <br /><br />I had 24 - D380's installed in 2011. 8 failed in the first two years. The installed stopped swapping them out after 2 years, despite their 5 year warranty. <br /><br />Today I have an 11th failed unit, contacted Enphase support over a month ago and have yet to receive a response. I have even had one warranty replacement fail.<br /><br />There are grid-tie string inverters on the market, some will supply emergency power (as long as the sun is shinning) locally when the grid is down.<br /><br />I gave them one star only because the site would not accept anything lower !!! :o(
