After much research it became quite clear that purchase (as opposed to leasing/contract purchase/no money down) was the way to go and Direct Energy Solar had excellent reviews. They also appeared to use the best, most efficient panels with distributed converters with excellent warranties. They indeed did live up to our very high expectations. They came when scheduled but then convinced me that despite there being a number of years left on the old roof that prudence would be best served by first reroofing. They were most accommodating in terms of rescheduling, stayed closely in touch and were ready within 2 days after re-roofing. Care and quality of work was outstanding. Regretfully the MyEnlighten software (to monitor production) is not up to the same standards (the sole reason for the 4 star after support rating) - it does not reliably collect all data, operates poorly particularly on a cell-phone, and the 'upgrade' which presents data for each individual collector is, in our view, outrageously priced ($249). Given the overall poor performance of the basic software, we elected not to risk additional money on it although I would dearly love the individual data which could highlight specific blocking branches, etc.
