I was initially introduced to Mass Renewables and Mike Kelley through the EnergySage website which provides free quotes from multiple solar contractors and allows for side by side comparisons. Since I was new to the whole solar process I did my own research and had many questions that Mike answered through the EnergySage website usually the same day or within the next day. The quote that Mass Renewables provided was about 10% less than two other solar companies for similar sized systems or was the same price as another company that would provide 5 less panels and therefore would produce less power. Mike suggested placing panels on least obtrusive roof side while still providing the same power production as the garage side of the house which was visible from the street even though that required a longer conduit run to the main electrical panel. The other solar companies all suggested the garage roof which I assume was easier for them to install but was more visible and would potentially dump snow directly onto driveway during the winter months. Some of the other solar companies would have installed inverter on outside wall of house instead of in the basement as Mass Renewables did, again showing Mass Renewables interest in providing a quality installation in all aspects. From the time I signed contract until solar was installed and producing power was about two months. We had friends who had solar installed through one of the "free" install companies and that took six months just to get turned on after installation. We have seen many of the "no money down" solar companies in our town with the electrical conduit running from a second story roof right down the center side of the house - not very aesthetically pleasing. Mass Renewables installation process went very smoothly and after six months is producing more power than was anticipated and is running without any issues. We were very happy with Mass Renewables and would recommend them highly to anyone interested in owning a solar energy system. In fact we have another family member who will have Mass Renewables install their solar panels after our positive experience.
