Review for CM Solar Electric

Do not use CM Solar Electric !!!!!

I have had this company design and install a solar system for my home. While the work was finally completed, there were so many, many, many issues in working with this company. I could not rate this company low enough. Of the dozens of companies I have worked with for home service (3 homes over a couple of decades), this company is by far the worse.

They say one thing and do another. They do not hold to any kind of schedule. Their guidance with the associated ygrene financing was wrong, costing us $1000+ more dollars than they stated. Their designers for the system did not take into account our requests initially. The longest delays were on their behalf, not the city inspections as they kept on saying. I could go on and on about the numerous issues, and provide all the documentation to support these claims. But given this is a simple website to rate companies, I can simply recommend to stay away from this company at all costs.

And to top it all off, after weeks of project completion, and multiple requests, they still have not refunded the initial deposit that they owe us, per our contract. I have even gone so far to file a complaint with the BBB regarding this and waiting to get a resolution.

Steve,

First off, we'd like to offer our sincerest apologies a the same time offer an explanation:

1) Ygrene sends out documents for approval and signature. We would not move forward unless your finance agreements have been settled and again, those require your signature. As stated in your finance agreement, Ygrene charges finance fees and are all rolled into the finance agreements that you signed off on. We have proof...

2) We send out a preliminary drawing for approval before submitting a permit to permitting department. Which again, you sign off on even before we submit a permit package. We have proof...

3) The City of Chula Vista has taken unusually long to process permits and even inspections. We have brought this up with the Mayor and they're staffing up in order to meet demand. You are not the only one experiencing up to 45 days in delays.

4) Your rebate/refund was processed a little late, and we do apologize for that, however, we do have proof that it's been cashed and collected.

It is in our best interest to complete projects fast and efficiently in order to process payments with the finance company, so naturally we try to expedite each and every deal that goes through Ygrene.

Steve, please understand that the construction process in the majority of large home improvements tends to come with a few hiccups that even we can't control!

Our best interest lies on your side, always! We're on the hook for the next 10 years and it is in our best interest to keep you happy. We simply cannot afford to create a foul reputation and we will on up to our mistakes. Please help us and let us know what we can do to improve our rating with you.

Kind Regards,

Carlos Melendez
CM Solar Electric
CEO/President
