Not as Promised

Intermountain Wind and Solar installed solar panels on our home in September of 2013.
We paid $24,964 out of pocket. After tax credits the net paid was $15,286. Intermountain solar indicated on their bid that we would save $1185.75 per year or $99 per month. I have kept careful records and determined that over the last 26 months my average monthly savings have been $74/month or $888/year which is 75% of what their bid indicated I would save. I live in Bountiful and our rate is .085/kwh which is lower than that charged by Rocky Mountain Power.

At this pace it will take 17 years to break even with the $15,286 investment.

For this reason I do not recommend solar.
