They tried

I was disappointed that I wasn't allowed more input, planning and designing MY system. I have had a lot of training in solar and told the sales person that I wanted to be involved. I wasn't told until after the installation was complete that the panels couldn't be tilted further South to take advantage of the winter sun. The panels were installed on a shop with a 2 in 12 pitch metal roof on steel purlins, requiring a ballast system. I don't think the panel install crew had ever installed a ballast system before. They put things in backwards and crooked and out of line. Wherever they made or used a hole in my roof, they pumped silicone into the hole and right onto whatever was under the roof; carpet, tool boxes, freezer, overhead door, car, etc...When I mentioned it to them they said they would clean it up, but they didn't. The install crew was gone for five hours for lunch and supplies. I was very pleased with the supervisor and electrician and thought they were very professional. I am still waiting to begin to use my panels, because I have no net meter yet. The monitoring didn't work because the shop is metal and far from my wifi source, so I had to run another conduit to the equipment to hard wire it to the internet. I had also pre installed conduit to the main breaker, but cannot tell that I was given any discount for that.
