Enphase Energy

These microinverters are a reliability time bomb - or more accurately, a bunch of time bombs on your roof waiting to go off. No way will they last the 25 years Enphase claims they will. I just serviced a customer that had a 33 panel system installed 5 years ago (by a now defunct installer). So far this system has had 22 microinverters conk out. Oh but, he could tell right away that they failed... Give me a break - can we just be satisfied with a really reliable inverter and forget the band aids?

Good quality polysilicon PV panel. Best value I know of these days. We limit ourselves to panels that have a little longer leads so they can be "skip wired" which saves on wire and has less voltage drop too. They are one of the only brands that even knows about this issue.... This is a brand that used to be German made, but is now produced in the Orient by Hanwa.
