Enphase Energy

I run a small solar installer company, and until I used Enphase, the installation and maintenance process was much more complicated. Before understanding the whole micro inverter, Envoy, Enlighten relationship, I did not really know Enphase, but after using their products for 4 years now, I would never switch back to a central inverter or any 'dumb' micro inverter because it is cheaper in cost. Troubleshooting a solar PV installation issue is super-easy with Enphase, but not with other competitor products. Many installers are patiently awaiting the AC battery in 2016, for it will open the NetMetering strategy to a much wider audience, allowing for more customers to get onto the solar bandwagon. I believe that by increasing their O&M business through their purchase of NextPhase and their entry into the battery business, Enphase will diversify enough to increase their bottom line and overall company value. Having Eliiy from Japan and Midnight Solar as partners assisting them with this AC battery venture makes me very confident that Enphase will roll out a great product. I am hoping that the AC battery will take a bite out of the low-end fossil fuel-based generators and allow people to run their lights, refrigerators, freezers and other critical electrical devices during a grid outage. The AC battery has been part of Enphase Energy's core concept since day #1, hence the name 'Energy' and not 'Solar'; their long range goal is to be a serious energy company and not just a solar component provider company. Furthermore, if you look at the loyal customer base they have built selling their M-250, M-215 and other micro inverter products, then you can surmise that those customers might be willing to jump on the AC battery bandwagon if the price is right. I know a number of my customers, including myself, who are anxiously awaiting Enphase's AC battery product. I am long on Enphase, and believe they are truly the Apple of the micro inverter market.
