Air Wind & Solar LLC

Air Wind and Solar is a very disappointing company to do business with. In January 2014 we installed a system through Air Wind on our new town home - they were recommended by a long time friend who had engaged them earlier in the year. The installation seemed to have gone as planned. We were informed that the electricity our solar panel system produced would be directed to our own daily electric consumption and what is left over - if any - would go to the grid. Their written projection indicated our monthly bills would decrease between 70% to 80% a month. We were not informed by Air Wind of needing to do additional paperwork - they indicated that they would handle all the necessary documentation, permits and such.

About three days after installation, ONCOR sent a representative to our home to determine if we were tampering with the system! We promptly completed their paperwork in early February and ONCOR replaced our meter with another special electric "smart" meter that would record our system's solar energy generation.

Several months afterwards we noticed no reduction within our electric bills. Our consumption remained consistant throughout the previous 16 months, Numerous unanswered voice mails and e-mails to Paul Graff and other Air Wind employees went on for more than six weeks. Finally after repeated calls and further e-mails through their customer service clerk - we were asked to provide them with copies of our TXU invoices. The next day 14+ months of TXU invoices was electronically sent and a followup call to their customer service rep confirmed that this information had arrived. We were informed later that day that we needed to establish an additional written contract with our current provider TXU Energy. We've down loaded and filled out and faxed that paperwork to TXU Energy 9:40 AM on October 2nd but as expected we haven't heard yet from TXU - nor has Air Wind and Solar bothered to follow up with us.

Our system is generating electricity - quite a bit of it due to our Southern exposure on a two story town home w/o trees blocking the sun. Unfortunately we still unable to apply it to our own use. We have given up on Air Wind for any sort of assistance and will look for another company to inspect our installation and determine if it is appropriately connected to the utility grid.

In the meantime if ANYONE is considering engaging Air Wind and Solar for an installation - just remember the words Buyer Beware - this company has demonstrated very poor level of after installation service and a total lack of professionalism. What they are consistently good at is taking your money ($7K from us and matching money from ONCOR), and afterwards ignoring a 99% of our calls and e-mails.
