Blue Raven Solar

At first I was really impressed with this company. The sales people were awesome, and the communication was great up until the install. We had to wait a few months for install, but nothing unexpected. They scheduled with the city to come and inspect the installation two days after install. During installation they had to move one panel which couldn't be placed where it had been measured to fit. That caused the inspection to be cancelled. A week later, when I received a second call asking if my thermostats had been installed, I indicated that I had hoped it was someone calling to reschedule the inspection. After looking at things, they immediately scheduled a new inspection (it hadn't been scheduled and wouldn't have been if I hadn't asked).

On the day of the inspection, Blue Raven's representative arrived early that morning (8 am), and as soon as he saw the labels that had been attached he indicated that the city would fail the installation since they were not fully engraved. He said that some inspectors would let him scratch in the information while a new one was ordered, but unfortunately the inspector had come at 7 am and already failed the installation. For the next week I heard nothing, despite trying to contact Blue Raven. My mistake was that I should have contacted the sales rep. As soon as I did that, he found out what was going on. New labels had been ordered and were finally installed one month after the initial installation. This could have been avoided if they had ordered the correct label for our installation which was apparently known to be needed. We then had to wait about 2 weeks for the city to come and inspect again. We passed that time.

Next was the wait for the power company to come and install the new meters. That took two weeks. This morning they arrived and failed our inspection because Blue Raven had installed a socket that is not allowed here in Nevada. So far I haven't gotten any response back from the company. It is now 8 weeks after installation and we have not seen anything productive from the installation, only the bill for the equipment.

Again, I was initially impressed with the company, but as far as it goes for installation here in NV, they installed equipment that they knew or should have known were not allowed.

It looks like you've had a frustrating experience after your system's installation. The issues that you experienced with your required labels took longer than they should have. We recognize this delay postponed activating your system and in the past experienced similar issues with other customers.

To prevent this problem from happening again, we recently brought label production in-house, allowing us to handle required labels quickly and correctly. You're also correct that there was a socket installation error. We're glad to see that we were able to get that replaced, and inspection passed, within 7 days of your utility finding the error.
