All Energy Solar

We used All-Energy Solar to add bi-directional monitoring to our existing solar installation. From start to finish, our experience with All-Energy was positive. Our project was handled quickly and efficiently throughout. The installer was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, professional, and worked with our schedule. He obviously had a lot of experience. We were very happy with the proactive communication we received, even though our job was so small. The monitoring works perfectly, and really helps us keep track of our usage and production. All-Energy made the process hassle-free all the way from inquiring about monitoring to the final payment. Very pleased!

SolarWorld Americas Inc. ----Out of Biz 2018

We appreciated being able to choose a well-respected panel that offered a 300W option. Due to local building codes, we could only put up a limited number of panels, and having them be 300W panels helped us maximize our available footprint.

Impact Power Solutions (formerly Innovative Power Systems)

Summary:
We got a good product for a fair price, but endured delays and unwelcome surprises along the way. Producing our own power with solar is great, and we really recommend installing a system to anyone considering it.

Detailed Review:
Our contract was signed with IPS on 9/27/16. We were led to believe by the salesperson and the project manager that they didn’t see a problem completing the project in 2016, possibly by Thanksgiving, so that we could get our federal solar tax rebate for tax year 2016. Materials were delivered to our home on 12/22/16, construction began on 12/30/16, our system went live on 2/24/17, and onsite work was completed on 2/27/17. Our monitoring did not go live until 3/9/17, and we did not receive our owner’s manual until 3/23/17.

After the contract was signed, local building codes necessitated that the size of our system be cut in half. IPS treated us more than fairly, giving us a good price on the downsized system. We were grateful for how they handled the change.

We discovered after the project was underway that IPS contracted the work at our site to be done by Premise Inc. This was a surprise to us, as we expected that the work would be done by IPS employees. The Premise installers were always respectful of our home, cleaned up after themselves very well, and seemed to do quality work. At times our project sat idle during optimal weather conditions, awaiting availability of installers. At one point in the process, we were told that Premise’s “schedule is super packed” and that they might have been hoping our permit process would take longer (i.e, in order to fit the installers’ schedule better). This left a poor impression.

Communication was sparse, especially during delays. At times, we received conflicting information from Premise and from IPS. This disconnect was confusing, and left us wondering which information was correct. Several times, we initiated contact ourselves to inquire as to the reason for the various periods of inactivity, and to request status updates.

In the end, we are pleased with our solar system, the installation of it and the price. We would have preferred to have had better communication and fewer delays.
