SolarFox (Formerly Solaroo Energy)

I hope you take the time to read this review because no one left a review of Solaroo for me to read before I committed to having Solaroo install my solar panels and I wish that someone had so that I would have known what kind of company Solaroo really is.
I looked into several solar panel companies before I made my decision to go with Solaroo. I turned down several other solar companies to go with Solaroo.
The sales man was nice and professional enough and seemed to respond positively to my wife and I when we told him the unique needs of our solar panel install. We told him exactly what we needed and this is where the experience went from good to bad. This information of our unique needs never got communicated beyond the sales person and so on the day of the install we got the standard install that went smooth enough but no one who came to install our solar panels that day knew anything about the specific and unique requirements we had.
Following this my wife and I had to make hours of phone calls, dealing with a company that had no inner business communication between positions within the company, blowing off appointments without any communication to us, and loosing hundreds of dollars of the prime annual rays from the sun because of the delays, to fix this oversight.
We finally got our solar panels connected after having to walk the company through hooking them up, and having to unhook them again, being overcharged with very vague invoices of trumped up charges, calling and calling a company that rarely returned calls that we shouldn’t have had to have been making in the first place, or they just avoided our phone calls altogether.
We had our loan expire due to the months and months that went by in delays so we had to reapply and had to increase the amount to include the unique specifications that originally got ignored and we were charged an enormous amount of 13% or $2,100 for nothing more than them handling the transaction even after I had to call them 4 separate times to get them to complete it. They lost a payment for the extra work and I finally had to insist that they bring it right to my home.
The work that was left out was simply that we needed the meter to our basement and the meter to our upstairs combined so that the solar panels would power the entire home. This was a simple job that seemed to bring the Solaroo company to its knees and stall our completion of solar panels for months. Their electrician charged much more than two other electrician bids that were given so we had a different electrician company merge the meters. But Solaroo now had to re-hook up the solar panels. This was where they made us wait over a month, for an appointment that they didn’t even show up for, to charge us a minimum of 2 hours of work for a 5 minute job with an extremely overprices part to a job that we had to hunt them down to accomplish.
This is not a disgruntled opinion or a revenge review, because Solaroo does have a good product that was initially installed efficiently. It is a review of my experience and how I wish I could have made different decisions to make the exciting experience of getting solar panels put on my house a better one. There are some of the people in the company who were nice to us once we tracked them down and told them the gaps that still remained in the solar panel process. But I don’t feel I would recommend this company to any one I know.
