Having already decided to get a roof-mounted solar system, I got multiple bids and - due to our having "won" a drawing at an environmental trade show - Air Wind & Solar was cheapest by a great margin, so we agreed to have them provide the system. The problems began even before installation with unreliable schedules on their part. Crews would never show up & I'd have to call AW&S to ask why not & when to expect another. Then they'd show up unannounced. Nothing went right & I developed the bad feeling we'd paid a deposit to bandits. Finally in 2015, an installation finally happened and for about a year, we were relatively satisfied. We had several months of $0 bills, albeit in off-peak months. Then in May/June 2016, Austin Energy let us know our system was no longer producing any energy. I contacted AW&S twice in late June to inquire whether/when they would check the system. Amanda Eason assured me they would & would contact me within two days but as with all else with this company, it was just a ruse to get me off the phone. A couple of weeks later & still nothing. I'll have to pay for another company to repair/replace the system and AW&S keeps the money.... read more
