Few things beat concerts in the park on a sunny summer day, but San Diego’s North Park and Home Energy Systems (H.E.S.) found a way by powering the park’s summer concert series with solar power. The concerns will be powered by H.E.S.’s mobile solar system.
The company said that the value provided by the sponsorship is upwards of $400.00 per concert. It also is interested in sponsoring more community events to support solar power, summer fun and fostering community togetherness.
"We could spend our communications budget knocking on doors and annoying you during dinner like "the other guys" but like San Diego, Home Energy Systems likes to keep it classy, from how we share our services to how we install top tier solar energy systems," says Ross Williams, VP of Home Energy Systems.
“We wanted to engage with the community on a local level to spread solar awareness,” added Lenora Lostaunau, H.E.S. spokesperson. “You need to be a little progressive to get it but, it's clear solar power saves on noise, emissions, and expenses.”
The company began powering the concert series on June 11 and will provide power for the bimonthly concerts through August. The free shows begin at 5:30 P.M.
The company’s mobile solar trailer and its battery system can provide power for the concerts even into the evening. During the first event, for instance the mobile power plant was set up at 2:30 and by 5:30, when the concert started it’s batteries were charged and ready to go.
Other companies in San Diego, like Stellar Solar, also have mobile solar power generators that have been used to power concerts in the area. While they put out a great message to the community such systems are also great to have in case of a disaster since they can be moved where needed, deployed quickly and need no external fuel sources to operate.Tweet
