Great Company!! High Integrity!

Fast service, even helped me revise my order DOWN to save me money. Thom helped me, and he could have just as easily sent my order as I requested, but took the time to call me and explain a couple things I would not have known, and had me revise the order to fit better and save me a bundle of cash! Shipped and packaged nicely, came quick, and was super simple and effective to install! Local inspector in my area (Duluth MN) required protection, and this did the trick. Thanks again Thom, will have more orders soon, wish you well!

Great bird/squirrel barrier products at a low price

Great barrier mesh and great solar panel clips to install the mesh without drilling. Priced at a fraction of the cost of Bird B Gone. Customer service was excellent! Thanks again!

Squirrels In the Area

As the owner installer of PV systems on our last two homes this latest one a 6.1 kWh system needed some help. Knowing we have squirrels on the roof and knowing they will eat / chew almost anything I was looking for a long term fix. A few internet searches brought me to Spiffy Solar and a solid solution to our squirrel concerns. The PV system is roof mounted on cement tile roof tiles. This did make trimming the Spiffy Solar screen to fit a bit of a challenge but with a simple template was no problem. The end result three years later we have had no problems with our PV System nor any nesting animals below the array. If you have squirrels I highly recommend this product to protect your PV investment.

Solar Panel Critter Guard

We got tired of chasing three pairs of pigeons attempting to nest under our solar panels and started to look for a permanent solution. We purchased 100 ft of the pvc coated screen and Spiffy Clip attachment hardware and installed it. Internet ordering was easy and it arrived a couple of days later. I have 30 panels on a high metal roof so installation took a little time but the process was simple. The instructions provided by Spiffy Solar were very thorough. We saw the pigeons on the roof 2 or 3 times after that and haven't seen them since. They lost interest when they could no longer get under the panels. We had the panels cleaned and are all set for the summer months. I would highly recommend this product.

Great Product

We have been struggling with starlings nesting under the panels for years. I found Spiffy Solar and ordered the amount needed. Not only was it very easy to install, but we have a bunch of angry starlings looking for a new home.

Consider second option for wavy tiles

It is a great product and most affordable option of its kind. However, if market demand rises, consider a second option with one wavy end to accomodate wavy Spanish tiles. Promote it as saving time not to cut it. For me I cut it in the middle with the sine wave line effectively doubling the length.

Reply from Spiffy Solar: Thanks for the feedback, we always appreciate hearing from our customers.

A scalloped edge would definitely benefit a lot of people in California and the Southwest, where the are a lot of pigeon problems. This is a tall order, from a manufacturing standpoint, but we'll be looking into it.

Spiffy Solar wire and clips are great

We have been using the Spiffy Solar wire and clips for all our residential systems install. The wiring is always the right size and the clips work great. Cuts down installation time tremendously as you do not have to guess the width of wire and cut it down for each job. The clips are of high quality and work great. The wire can be easily bent to the correct width required for most residential roof top jobs. Would recommend it to anyone considering a pest protection system.

Reply from Spiffy Solar: Thanks we're glad you agree that folding (versus cutting) is a big time saver. Of course, users can still trim-to-fit if they like, but for professional installers, time is money and we've done what we can to make the process as quick as possible for that reason.

Spiffy Solar Saves Money

We have installed a few critter guards a month for the last few years. We have used every name brand unit designed specifically for solar. In addition, we have troubleshot many systems installed by other installers over the years so we have an extensive first-hand background into how these systems perform.

We have found that the Spiffy critter guards use the same quality of materials as the most expensive brands on the market, yet cost much less. In addition to the lower cost, we have found that the installation method used by Spiffy saves money on man power. Depending on the difficulty of the roof and the size of the array the labor is generally reduced by 1-2 man hours as compared to the major competitor's design. This is the main reason we switched to using Spiffy exclusively.

Another hidden benefit we have discovered is in our warehouse. The competitors we have used (trying not to name specific names), generally supply enough attachment brackets for the supplied screen length, but depending on the install, our techs sometimes need a few extra brackets. This means that after a handful of projects we end up with no brackets and a spare roll of screen. Most of these other brands do not allow you to order extra brackets without the screen which causes inventory issues. With Spiffy they supply more attachments then you normally need so we often end up with extras. Also, you can order the screen and brackets separately so you can stock your inventory as needed.

One final note. We are often called out to troubleshoot systems installed by other companies. Here and there we come across a system that the original installers simply used mesh or chicken wire from the hardware store. This is a poor method. It is not unusual for us to find systems that squirrels have pushed or pried their way through to chew away at solar wires. In our opinion, there is no way to make a proper critter guard with hardware store material. It really is important to use a product made for this use with proper attachments. We have also found that it may void equipment manufacture and roof warranties if you physically attach homemade screens with screws.

For our company, we only use Spiffy Solar. We highly recommend it and Spiffy's customer service is always top notch. In all of the systems we have installed, we have yet to have one fail. I can not express the importance of critter guards enough. It is not unusual for us to find complete systems destroyed by critters and costing the homeowner up to $5k or more to repair/replace system components, especially if microinverters were used. I believe we will continue to see more and more of these unfortunate situations on unprotected systems as these newly installed systems mature and the industry continues to grow.

The Only Full Proof Therapy

This Netting Works 100% because it's made out of great Coated Steel Wire. You need it if you have rodents chewing on your Solar Panel Wires. There's enough to cover both arrays with 2 orders. Nothing else works.
