NO Under Warranty Service from Schneider

I give a zero rating if I could. I have an off grid solar system with a Schneider Inverter/Charger connected to intelligent Discover batteries. The system is fully under warranty. Ran fine for the last couple of years and then recently started getting error codes along with a battery drain. Bottom line: the batteries were being drained by the interfaced inverter charger. We took the unit to a authorized Schneider service center and was told that Schneider no longer uses the service centers for repair (apparently because of SO MANY FAILURES and Schneider no longer wanted to pay them for servicing) but advised that the unit has to be returned to Schneider for them to handle the warranty. The service center indicated it could be a faulty fan or a board that was causing the overheating failure. We boxed it up in its original box and called Customer Service at Schneider to get an RMA. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US AN RMA stating that we needed to re-install the unit on the wall to take pictures and a video and only after doing that would they consider giving us an RMA. We had documentation and screen shots of all the errors and cannot believe that a manufacturer would tell us to reinstall a heavy defective unit to take a video. They implied that we possibly are at fault if the fan was blocked. WE HAVE PRIOR PICS SHOWING THE INSTALL and the area is clear but no video so we apparently are screwed. Also the entire system is built with Schneider components (inverter, MPPT, and SCP) so there isn't any way that Schneider can claim that system is faulty due to a mix of manufacturer components. To add insult to injury, then we received an email stating they had closed our customer service ticket and then asked for a review of their customer service! WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!!! It took 45 minutes for the support phone to be picked up from hold and then the entire conversation was a "stall" where the person would say part of a sentence and then wait for minutes to complete as if the phone line was bad. IT wasn't!!!! If Schneider reads this then just have their legal contact me about where I have to file to sue them for breach of warranty. Schneider admits the unit is under warranty but is denying me service. I am NOT letting this go. We have a temp fix in place and batteries are no longer draining so WE KNOW the Schneider unit is the culprit in this problem.

One good year

My system includes the inverter, a Schneider 60 amp MPPT controller and a Schneider SCP controller. On initial install, everything worked fine - though the option to set up for using lithium batteries took a little investigating; not well covered in the manual. The system had a noisy hum - sometimes a buzz, which I solved by removing the front cover (8 screws), and affixing pieces of masking tape to the metal surfaces of the chassis which contacted the cover. This filled a thin gap and gave some cushioning. After a little over one year of operation, on the first time the system shut down due to low battery voltage, it has failed to restart when battery power was restored. There are no apparent damages in the circuitry. The communications and control board, which supports the front panel switches has a 3V Panasonic ??1632A battery soldered to the board and not replaceable - this is still showing 2.9V and it is the only remotely serviceable component I have found so far. I will dig deeper and post results of my investigation in r/OffGrid on Reddit some time in November 2022. The SW 4048 has a one year warranty, which Schneider will freely extend if the owner registers online in the first six months. However they do not advertise that fact in their manuals or any other documentation that comes with the equipment - so the average individual would not likely discover this option in time, unless they investigate a warranty claim soon after installation. This equipment may yet prove to be repairable, but based on the reputation of Schneider and my investigations to date, I am doubtful. This piece of equipment cost $1450 and - together with the other system components - has saved me about $1200 in utility bills during its service life. I am very unlikely to buy another piece of Schneider equipment, even though I will lose the functionality of the system control panel (another $240).

Stay away from Schneider

Inverter has failed multiple times. No support. No responsibility. 0 stars if I could.

Support Lacking

I had a Schneider Electric solar monitoring system installed on my completely OTG property in 2019. Their website monitoring platform does NOT provide data regarding the power level of your battery system, which is the most important issue to monitor. I have spent months trying to get an answer or a work-around with their Service Support and I keep receiving responses via E-Mail which are NOT related to my inquiry. Additionally, it takes over a week (on average) for them to respond. Meanwhile, my battery bank and power to my home can only be monitored manually in mid-winter by trudging through snow and 20 degree weather to go to the battery shed to read the monitor.

Schneider Electric XW+

On paper they have a system that gives you the ability to run single phase and multiphase power, expand will multiple units to increase wattage and provide grid tied and off grid power. When it works - it works great. But don't go looking for support. None of their 'dealers' or 'installers' have more than a sales knowledge of the product. Even their experts in the YouTube videos skimp past some of the most important configuration settings. Worse, don't have a unit fail - there is no user support. Their 'installers', actually sales people at the retail outlets, who could not even configure one with the manual in front of them, palm you off to the 'Technical Support' number, which is not structured to support customers. You fill out a form which replies back with a case number. eMail says wait and they will contact you. Wait more than a week and a Tech calls. Less than 3 minutes they confirm that I'm not incompetent - it is actually a failure. So Tech advises that he is submitting an RMA and they will send a replacement. You have to swap out the faulty unit and return to them in same shipping material. No problem - except that 2 weeks later there is no sign of any activity whatsoever. The 'warranty' department is an impenetrable fortress. Even their technical department cannot get answers out of them and there is definitely not any contact info. The Tech states that the warranty department does not take incoming calls. Nice solid well made product with lots of features but ….buyer beware. You need to carefully consider before making this the center of you power supply. They will at least do a diagnostic with you

Conext XW+ 5548

The Install was easy, I am an IBEW electrician. The system manual is not the easiest to understand. I installed Oct 2018.

Jan 2019 called for tech support. They have started a Web Form Tech Support system. When I completed the form, all fields filled in, the form would not submit. Tried numerous times over two days.

Call my retailer Alt-E and they said they had received numerous complaints about this tech support system and have no real answer to get me connected to Schneider Tech Support.

The Result - as of today, Jan 5, 2019 There is effectively no tech support of Schneider Electric Inverter/Chargers.

Walter in Indiana

Schneider inverters have TERRIBLE reliability

I have 7 Conext-CL 25 kW grid tie inverters installed for almost 2 years reliability is terrible. When cold weather hits they Arc fault and then permanently fail; we had to replace one unit more than 3 times. Takes several weeks to get back on line; at times we have had 3 units down out once. Really crippling our production.

Sophisticated and rugged. We especially like its high (70C) temperature rating. And, in our case, this unit handily integrates the battery bank, solar charge controllers and, if present, generators.
