Tim U's Review from Red Bluff, CA
Breach of contract means nothing to Sunstor Solar. Have a good lawyer on speed dial if you do business with Sunstor. Signed a contract with them 12/ 12/2019. As a signing bonus on an over price system they threw in a Goal Zero 6.2 kwh Home kit which they will not deliver to us. Watch out for slick salesman and dishonest management. From Tim in Red Bluff

FRAUD SCAM Warning Sunstor Solar!!!
Always read the 1 star reviews!!! I did not. Big mistake! We have a rural off -grid house in Mono County, with failing lead acid batteries. No local installers available to upgrade to newer lithium battery. Nathan Skousen , the recommended tech specialist, visited our house after he suggested that we upgrade the entire system, an expensive task, which would mean replacing our entire 12 year old system. Before visiting we sent in our $ 15,000 deposit, and time was of the essence to replace batteries before cold weather arrived. The deposit was made in July. Nathan made it out in August. Installation scheduled for September. Then October. By end of September Nathan told me that they did not have the installer to do the work, because he left the company. Now it's been exactly one month since they officially backed out of the project. After many requests and promises that we will get our money back, we have not received it yet.. Joshua Orosco seems to be the principal who sent the online agreement and was the recipient of the money. The Sunstorsolar website and Joshua's email don't existat this time. There are about a dozen other business names linked to Joshua Orosco. I am disappointed and feel taken advantage of. I tend to trust individuals. As I have now read other 1 star reviews, it is obvious that this is fraudulent behavior. I suggest that The principal owners at Sunstor Solar slow down, turn on their moral compass, return their customers' monies or finish jobs expected. And I would like our deposit money back a s a.p.

Unbelievably horrible. Lies, deception and failure to perform.
They could only be this bad purposefully. They absolutely refuse to communicate, and when they do finally respond they lie and they mislead us. We contracted with SunStor at the end of April. It’s nearly September and all they have accomplished has been to send out a sub-contracted roofer, which they assured us numerous times they would do the roofing in house. They lied and said they used this particular roofer hundreds of times, but the roofer told us he had never worked for them. Right up to the day the roofer showed up they were telling us they would send an in-house roofer, not a sub. Shame on me for not reading the contract more closely, they take a 40% payment as a progress payment, and they take that payment when all they have done is pull the permit, which is administrative work only. They do that immediately to get your money, and then they put on the extremely high pressure to get that check, and as soon as you give them the check they no longer return phone calls or emails or text messages. All the lines go silent. Four months later there is absolutely no indication that they are going to perform the work. If you search for their name the Google reviews immediately pop up in the sidebar, showing the great average rating. They had only a handful of reviews prior to 7 months ago, with a lot of them being negative. Then suddenly 67 five-star reviews. I find it difficult to believe that customers suddenly started reviewing in droves over a 2-month period, and all those generic reviews are completely contrary to my experience. Do NOT contract with this company. They’re management and contract performance standards are the lowest of any organization I have ever worked with in my entire life.
Unbelievable that they have done | Rio Linda, California | 07/19/2021
This company should not be in business.
It has been a little over 18 months that I have been paying solar payments along with SMUD. This company has provided every excuse of why the system is still not working and non of the excuses match the loan company notes or SMUD. This company has left holes in my roof, caused financial and emotional hardship. They will not contact anyone back it seems after they have been paid by the lender. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Desperate as a Customer to get progress updates
Its been almost a year, and I still dont have my solar panels operating! I have been very patient with sunstor. I did not want to give this bad review. But I am forced to do this because of their snail pace in responding to my queries. I was talked to by a very persuasive sales representative to choose sunstor solar last year around August timeframe. We made the initial payments and it took until November to install the panels. It took another set of several months to get battery installed around June of 2020. It took them then forever to make necessary paperwork with SMUD for approval. I get email from SMUD saying application is not approved in August. I ask SunStor for what the rejection means to me. I will have to give them the usual minimum of one month lead time to respond to my query i suppose. I am very exhausted waiting for response from SunStor Solar. I have a feeling that I might have lost my money on these panels and battery. I would have expected their reasoning was things are slow because of COVID challenges with resourcing. But all I am asking for is Effective Communication: When can I expect next communication? What is next step? What does SMUD's rejection of application mean? I have already lost one year since paying for Solar. Sun's ray's are lost :). I will still want to hope for things will change some day soon and SunStor will help out with completion of this project. But I have to say. I have lost all patience. All I am asking for is COMMUNICATION. I really want to remove this review as I do not like talking bad about anything. I am sure they have reasons. But all I am asking for is COMMUNICATION.

Seems legit at first, but beware.
Purchased solar from them summer 2019, install not timely and they NEVER completed the contract. Today, they still have not completed the Permission To Operate (PTO) with PGE. Josh Orozco, the owner, seems incapable of completing clerical work. On different occasions, he sent me PTO's for other customers and would send mine to other customers. He had the wrong information and would take weeks to respond to simple fixes such as changing an incorrect email address. They promised to pay my loan payments until they finished the PTO and made 2 payments. Then, they stopped responding to my phone calls and emails. It has been over six months since. Over the past few months, I had the CSLB, California AG, BBB, and a lawyer contact them to finish the job--zero replies.
