All around amazing service and products!
Sandhill Solar installed solar panels on our Crestone Home in the fall of 2020. Everything about this company is fantastic. They are very courteous, timely, friendly, and committed to what they do. And they are extremely knowledgeable and hard working. They went out of their way to help with some additional items that were unique to our home. The installation happened much more quickly than I expected, and we are so very happy to have solar panels now working for us as we use electricity from the sun!

Laura started her solar career by studying with Solar Energy International (SEI) in Paonia, Colorado. She worked for three years in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for Positive Energy, one of the state’s largest solar companies. While there she obtained her NABCEP Professional Installer Certification and Residential Wireman's license. Laura moved to Monte Vista, Colorado in 2016 to work for Solar Gain Services, installing and servicing systems around the San Luis Valley. That year she also began teaching solar classes for Solar Energy International (SEI) in Paonia, Colorado. She enjoys introducing students from around the world to the benefits of solar energy. Laura is a board member of the San Luis Valley Housing Coalition. I received prompt attention from my initial phone call to Sandhill Solar which continued through the installation of my home grid-tie solar project. Sandhill solar recommended Elevations Credit Union to obtain my energy loan for my solar project. Elevations Credit Union offered me the option to apply for my loan by phone or online. The customer service representative took my information by phone. I received my approval within hours after applying. I decided to split my loan, into two loans. The first loan was for the cost of parts. The second loan was for the labor cost at the completion of my project. The process was quick and easy all from the comfort of my home. Sandhill Solar handled all communication, documents required for my loan, permitting and completion of my energy supplier required documents. The installation by Laura and her teamt was organized by priority and implemented step by step. I was alerted to each step by step installation date and time throughout my project. The end result of my project was Sandhill Solar provided me with a quality grid-tie solar power system for my home at a reasonable price. I also get a 30% rebate this 2019 tax year. Couldn't be happier!
Solar electric on my own roof has been a dream for years. That dream was realized this summer with the installation of a 2.5 kW, 8 panel system on my south and west facing roof. The icing on the cake is the 30% tax CREDIT (not a deduction, a dollar for dollar credit!) on my Federal tax return. That means that my $9K system only costs me $6,300. Don't know how long this credit will last in our renewable unfriendly political climate. Anywho....all of these details are exciting but the best part of my experience was working with the dedicated and knowledgeable staff from Sandhill Solar in Monte Vista, CO. Sandhill Solar was responsive and patient with me as we explored the best possible installation for my home and my needs. The best part of all is that I can monitor all my daily electric production and consumption on my computer and smart phone. So happy about my contribution to reduced carbon emissions!
