Easy to work with and completely professional!
San Diego County Solar was great to work with - we're very happy with our new system! Very professional and informational, friendly, and we didn't suffer the sales-heavy pitch from our sales agent, Seth, that we had experienced with other solar companies. Seth planned out our solar usage and anticipated what we'd need to add for with a new construction building. Easy to work with, good fair price - you can't go wrong!

Great to have solar!
San Diego County Solar did a great job installing my solar system. They recommended an electrician and roofer to replace my roofing and upgrade my electrical panel. Both recommendations worked out well. Seth, the sales director, was good at explaining the details of solar and the net metering benefits. Seth and Roy worked with the electrician and roofer to get the process moving and in order. Once SDG&E gave the electrician the go ahead to change out the panel, San Diego County Solar installed my 4.8 kW system the day after the panel was upgraded. The equipment I had installed was REC 400W Alpha black panels and Enphase IQ8 microinverters. During the solar install, one of the new breakers in the new panel failed, but Ian from San Diego County Solar diagnosed it and went to Home Depot to get a replacement for me. When my wifi couldn't be seen by the system, they installed an AC line network adapter so the system could go online. There was a slight delay with the system inspection schedule, but permission to turn on came about 2 weeks after the install. It was just in time to deal with the high temperatures that came in September. I was able to generate excess solar while still running the AC as I needed it. Later Seth came by and helped connect the system to my wifi, after I had installed a wifi extender. He also added additional paint to the conduit around the combiner box, since the temporary AC line network adapter cable was removed when wifi was connected. There was an issue with the install of the sign on the electrical panel, but after an email to Seth, he had the issue taken care of. San Diego County Solar has its own employees, not contractors, perform quality work. They managed the process for me, which is what I was looking for. Seth was available to answer questions over the phone and txt/email before I decided to go with them, yet he didn't make any push just to make a sale. I am very happy with the solar system, as it continues to generate energy for me each day.

Exceptional
Thanks to San Diego County Solar, the steps involved in my solar installation went smoothly. I would give them a 10 out of 10 for their commitment to communication, professionalism, attention to detail, and on and on. They have in-house installers, which is key to overseeing quality control. The sales director, Seth Tilley, is really knowledgeable and friendly. He constantly communicated with me and answered all my questions. I wish that companies in any industry would learn from San Diego County Solar the best way to do business!

Great Solar System
We recently had a very large solar system installed on our home in Rancho Santa Fe by San Diego Solar. They were recommended to us by our HVAC contractor as a long time locally owned San Diego solar company who does great work and does not spend money on advertising because they do not need to advertise as they get all of their work from direct referrals from satisfied customers, and you can count us as satisfied customers. Our roof is complicated and required a great deal of effort and design to keep all the panels not visible from the front of our home. We could not be more pleased with the professionals from San Diego County Solar who were very responsive, friendly, competent and always on time and respectful of our privacy and closing our gates so that our dogs did not escape. Seth Tilley who is the company's Sales Director did not try and sell anything but instead laid out the pros and cons of solar in easy to understand graphs and discussions. Seth like the other representatives of San Diego Solar genuinely like their job and working for their company which is so rare these days when it is so difficult to find competent professionals do any work in your home. Importantly for me as an attorney, I always worry about liability and this company does not do any projects without appropriate workman's compensation insurance and commercial liability insurance, and they do not use subcontractors but only their own employees. My wife and I recommend San Diego Solar without any reservations. We are very happy we chose them and now we are delighted to watch our system generate juice back to SDGE for which we will be paid annually.

10/10 Couldn't be happier!
I cannot express how happy we are and how good of an experience we've had with San Diego County Solar, Seth, his installation team Ian, Tim and Tim, and Roy. They were the only company that was transparent and honest with us about NEM 3.0. They were willing to answer any and all of our questions and even post-install Seth has offered to answer any questions we have about our system, NEM, our true up, etc. No pushy, gross feeling sales pitch. No gimmicky nonsense. No shady, insanely high APR loans to line their pockets. Just honest, upfront information, transparency, and QUALITY work. We had major issues trying to get our HOA to clear our install. SDCS was kind enough to call our HOA and get help get our paperwork pushed through from the HOA. We'd been trying for months. Seth was able to get it for us the day he called which allowed us to install less than a week later. Our install was SUPER smooth. The guys are awesome and we felt 100% comfortable with them in the house. Our dogs loved them. They respected our request to stay masked in the house which we really appreciated and they were willing to work around my husband's and my work schedules for the short time that the power had to be turned off on Day 2. They left our house as clean as when they got here which is something I've NEVER had happen with a contractor. Clean, clean, clean work on the solar install itself, but also in/around our home. And Ian, Tim-with-a-beard and Tim-without-a-beard were just super cool guys. Nice, funny, and willing to involve us in the process. (What paint color for the areas that needed paint, where did we want the breaker box, etc.) Roy was able to schedule us for our inspection the Monday after install and then we got permission to turn our system on ***SAME DAY*** as inspection from SDGE. We were floored. Our process from install Day 1 to PTO was 6 days total. Our entire experience has been nothing but positive from start to finish. When I first spoke to SDCS, they told me something that I VERY, VERY much believe: 'they may not be the cheapest company in terms of price, but they aim to be the best.' And I absolutely believe it. I have seen it in the way they've treated us as customers, the way they respected our home, and how good our solar install turned out. 10 out of 10 glowing recommendation from us. It was worth paying the tiny bit more to go with a such a good company. THe saying "you get what you pay for" certainly applies for us. We got an amazing solar install that we're really proud to have on our roof and help us zero out our SDGE bills. For anyone looking to get solar, it's worth paying the little more to get the incredible quality of work and attention to detail that SDCS puts into their jobs. They're a small company that really cares about what they do and if we didn't have an HOA I'd glad rep a sign that says we got our solar from SDCS.

Friendly and timely service from start to finish
We were very lucky in that we were the fourth household in our greater circle of friends to decide to get solar. By the time it came to us, three other families had already gotten solar through San Diego County Solar and all had glowing reviews, which saved us a lot of research and fretting about choosing the right provider. Seth was very helpful and friendly from the start, helping us determine our power needs both currently and planning for the future so we could get a system that best fit our house. Upon inspection, they worked with us to find the right place to put everything that worked for the system and for our own needs. Roy was very helpful in communicating timetables and coordinating scheduling with the roofing contractor. We had a last minute design change the required resubmitting our plans to the city for approval, but they whole team worked around it to make sure the install happened on time and Permission to Operate inspection was scheduled as soon as possible. Despite the work being done and them already having our money, Seth has even been helpful as we monitor the app and have questions about how it works and how to read all the data. As with the friends before us, we heartily recommend San Diego County Solar to anyone looking for solar in the greater county area (and already have; another set of friends is already in the planning stages with them!).

San Diego County Solar exceeded our expectations!
We had a great feeling about San Diego County Solar from the first phone call to our final Permission To Operate meeting! Seth was informative and honest with no high-pressure sales pitch. He was patient and answered all of our questions. The contractors they referred us to for our new roof and upgraded electrical panel were outstanding! Everyone who worked on our home was polite, efficient, and professional. The whole process went as expected and we couldn’t be happier. Professional team, Great value
If you are looking to install Solar, San Diego County Solar (SDCS) deserves your consideration! There are so many companies out there pushing products and the choice of provider can be overwhelming. We had researched extensively and came down to three providers, one of which was SDCS. We were fortunate to see SDCS complete an installation at a nearby home and we spoke to the owners about their experience, which was really positive. Our first encounter was with Seth, their Director of Sales. Seth is very knowledgeable and took a lot of time to understand what mattered to us and what we were trying to achieve with the installation. There was no hard selling, just a professional and thorough quote process. Once we selected SDCS, Seth handed the project management over to Roy but remained actively involved in the project. Roy worked with SDG&E to get the necessary approvals and clearly communicated the progress and timing. Once onsite the install team Tim, Tim and Ian were efficient and courteous and completed the job in two days as promised. Within days we had the system up and running and are currently saving big time! If you are getting Solar in San Diego you won't be disappointed with SDCS, a local company, with competitive prices, professional employees and a quality installation.

Great Experience With San Diego County Solar
I had been researching solar installation companies I commonly saw working in our neighborhood but was unimpressed with their reviews. A co-worker recommended SD County Solar and we set up a consultation with Seth Tilley. I really liked his philosophy of providing great service to sustain a smaller local company that survives on its reputation. High quality long lasting equipment is used so it is not the cheapest install, but so far the system has delivered flawlessly. They also work in conjunction with Rochelle at Diamond Roofing to insure the installation will be leak free. The installation process was problem free and all of the staff working at the house from both companies were professional and amiable. Highly Recommended!
