Not only was Jerry Sorgento generally helpful, informative and professional during the basic process, but he went the extra mile (or two) to get my system installed by the NJ rebate deadline. The deadline was very, very close because another installer led me on for four months and then blew off my job because it `wasn`t big enough`.

Jerry took very good care of my installation, worried about and addressed very detail, and finished in time for me to get my rebate.

Without hesitation, I would recommend Jerry to anyone considering a solar system. (In fact, I already have.)
I had two primary reasons for installing solar PV.

I watched the World Trade Center towers fall from the Jersey side of the Hudson River. I believe our infrastructure in vulnerable in many ways.

I buy power from PSE&G. We`ve had a number of outages from large (Aug. 2003, among others) to small (transformer in street in front of City Hall exploded). I believe our infrastructure is unreliable.

For these two reasons, I installed the PV (and yes, the rebate was important) and back-up batteries (no rebate for these). When (not `if`) the grid goes down again, I`ll have a working refrigerator, lights and a modest amount of electricity. It`s a good thing.

(By the way, your survey needs bigger comment boxes.)

There are additional costs for the permits. There may be additional costs incurred if your electrical breaker panel doesn`t have the proper grounding or enough breakers for the solar system that`s being installed. In addition to your town or city inspecting the system, the state must also inspect the system and then all paperwork goes to your utility company who must then approve your starting the system up. This approval process can take four to eight weeks, depending on the speed of the inspectors and your utility company.
Finding a more enviromentally friendly manner of generating energy was one of the concerns in looking into solar energy. I was very satisfied with the work that New Age Solar did and would recommend them highly.
