Service call well executed

Two techs from Native, Chandler and Sergio, came out and installed CT amperage devices so that I can optimize solar using different techniques, such as self supply, grid tied, clean back up, and priority settings on the generac inverter. They did a good job and I’m now playing around with the settings to see which works best under different scenarios. I appreciate natives service support on this. My only comment would be that there is a lack of troubleshooting support guidance that a customer can do on his own before sending people out on the service call. I’ve had to learn this on my own to reset PV links when they go and the rebus.

Buyer Beware: Read documentation and believe nothing verbal!

A simple system add on of 13 panels, inverters, wiring, racking & critter guard. Quoted time: 30 Days, with worst case scenario of 90. Actual: 6 Months and a couple of days. Quoted Price: $17,749.00 Actual: $18,044.00 Their Lender Credit Human * Fraudulent UCC1 filing claiming - All Title Right & Interest in all solar photovoltic equipment and associated components..... For the addition to a preexisting Solar system! Meaning they leaned my 20 panels and all components while only adding an additional 13 panels and inverters plus wiring, racking and critter guard. They came with zip ties to install the critter guard! In Texas? Those plastic ties would last one season two is blessed from above, certainly not a permanent installation. The appropriate permanent hardware was supplied by myself! The installers were awesome, but it is very difficult when you decide to show up one day before the hiring of an attorney to represent you for the misdeeds! My system is performing wonderfully as should, Enphase really needs to look at their suppliers!

Hammer San Angelo | San Angelo, Texas | 10/31/2022

Hammer, San Angelo

In December of 2016, my wife and I purchased a solar installation from a local, San Angelo, solar company. The installation went as discussed and we were happy because things went as planned. Soon after that installation the once local company, left San Angelo and we were assured that if there was ever a problem with our installation to, “call them for service”. Our system functioned effectively until 5.18.22(date obtained from our electric provider), we became aware of the issue with the June 2022 bill. The electric company came to the house to make sure there was not a problem they needed to fix, and it was determined that it was a solar system problem. The installer was immediately notified and was provided with the information he requested so that a diagnosis could be determined. From that initial contact with the owner of the solar company on approximately 6.15.22 until 8.6.22 we were without any specific information regarding a service call. Time and time again were we told that us being in San Angelo was going to be a problem for service. Finally, on 8.6.22 his office manager told us a service person would be here on 8.8.22. The technician did come and told us he could not download the necessary information in order to diagnose the problem and would need to return with the necessary equipment to do so, but could not tell us when that would be, “it would have to be scheduled by the office manager and the owner”. Over the next several weeks, from 8.9.22 thru 8.26.22, there were no positive efforts made to reschedule a service call. Phone calls, texts and e-mails went unanswered, I believe the phrase is, “no response, just crickets”. We were being completely ignored by the original installation whose contract states, “If there is an issue, we will come fix it”. Finally, we found Native Solar, who provided us with specific dates, updates, price guidelines, answered e mails, returned phone calls with relevant information and never once left us feeling ignored or told us you are out of luck because you live in San Angelo. San Angelo is a town where you can drive around and see who has solar and from there it is an easy phone call and contact to ask who your installer was and how is their service. I will be spreading the word about the quality of the service work done by Native Solar. They understand customer service and demonstrated that to us. As for the original installer, “all hat and no cattle”, and I will be spreading that word as well.

Production is down

My system was installed in March 2020 it worked great until August that year. Then half the panels went down. Issues was not resolved until Dec 2020. Since then my production has been down. In January 2022 i have 3 new panels installed. the new panels produce 15 % more production. There is a 5 watt difference in the to 2 different panels. All of the panels have been cleaned. I have been contacting Native regularly since January of 2022 to get this issue resolved to no avail. I have spent over 70 thousand dollars with Native and all I want is the for the system to preform properly. At this point I feel all Native is doing is giving me the run around. Needless to say I am not a happy customer.

High expectations, led to mixed experience

To begin with this was not a standard design. It included a grid tied system with battery and propane generator. I come from a technology background and new exactly what was available and what I needed. I presented this information to sales who immediately brought the engineering team prior to any contracts being discussed. My issue came with the follow through after the sales was finalized. There were many weeks without anyone contacting me with respect to project start times and the availability/ non-availability of materials. I had to insert myself after months to find the items needed to complete the project. It has been better than a year and the project is not completed. Do to the last component coming in months late I have been unable to schedule a third party for hook up.

Slow install, poor sales follow-up and communication

Experienced several glitches, and the overall project has taken 12 months to complete for a basic residential installation. Sales support and follow-up is non-existent. Company is terribly slow to respond, if at all. Altered the installation plan and didn't update the sales contract to match. I'm still lacking expected warranty information and O&M details.

Long road, but they stuck with it.

I had a complex job to source construction of a car port/ground mount solar system, in addition to integrating with an existing solar system. Native stuck with the project through a lot of changing variables, ultimately delivering exactly what I wanted. I would recommend Native to anyone looking for a quality solar solution.

Very professional

They were very nice people and did an excellent job of installing solar panels on the roof of my house. After they installed the meters, they explained very clearly what each of them showed and said that I would be able monitor online the amount of electricity my panels were making. I was very pleased with the result as I never had an electricity bill again. When I sold the house a few months ago, I received a check for over $600 for the extra electricity the panels had made over the previous six months!

Native Solar was excellent in installing/commissioning with CPS

I chose Native Solar because they provided the best proposal and the company has a good business model (they do many types of construction - not just solar panels). This allows them a much better opportunity to prosper and grow in the future. They used excellent contractors to perform all phases of construction and had an excellent relationship with CPS in San Antonio, Texas. The work was completed within the required scheduling period and no problems were encountered in finalizing the commission inspection by CPS. My system is composed of 23 Mission 300 panels with each panel using an Enphase IQ6-60-2-US Microinverter. I have had no problems with the systems and the completed assembly is aesthetically pleasing to view and complied with my HOA requirements. The system includes an excellent monitoring software tool available on my home computer and as an APP on my iPhone. The information provided allows me to reconcile my CPS billing statement with the production data reported by the monitoring tool (which for me is very important). Native Solar installed my array on the tile roof of my home and I have had no problems with the roof performance (including a record setting rainfall during 9/2018 of over 18"). I highly recommend Native Solar as your Solar panel installer.

Native Residential Roof Top Solar System

Native was very competitive in price and quality. I had three competitive quotes and chose Native...They were very easy to work with and explained everything clearly (I am a retired engineer), with no hidden costs...! Native provided the specific solar panels and options I selected along with running the wiring in the attic, as requested...vs... installing the electrical conduit runs along the roof/shingles. Installation was uneventful, timely and done with care.... Our system consists of 27 roof mounted panels which has performed for almost 2 years without issue...When the sun is out we are making energy....! It is nice to get such low monthly electric bill..!! Some months we even get an electrical credit, using less energy than we produce and sending back the excess to the electric company (no storage needed) . There were no local rebates in our area, however, an out of town company supporting residential solar provided a rebate, through Native, after installation was complete and the system achieved the quoted output. I would recommend Native to anyone considering a solar system: small, medium or large... We are very pleased with our system...! Let the sun shine......!

Native Solar - Top Quality Solar Installation

Disclaimer: I work for Native Solar. It may seem obvious that I would choose Native Solar if I work for Native Solar. However I would like to add that I have been working in solar for twelve years, I know all of the companies in the area and I choose to work for Native Solar, because I know and have seen firsthand the quality of the installations. I could leave and work somewhere else, but I don't because Native Solar is the best. I couldn't be happier with my solar array, and it has never had any issues since we turned it on about 14 months ago. Native Solar is the best choice because they have a long track record of success, unlike most companies that have only been around for a few years. When considering something that has a long warranty and will be in operation for 25+ years, I think it makes sense to work with an established provider. Thank you Native Solar and here's to the next 25 years of solar power!

Conniving

Said what they needed to to get the sale. Took way too long to get done and now they still owe me cash as part of their agreement they said would be paid in 3 months. I've received ONE payment! This might sound like a "no duh", make sure EVERYTHING is in writing!
