We're not producing enough energy in state and getting energy from out-of-state has been causing rate hikes. I'm sure you've noticed that.What the municipality has been doing to combat the problem is putting solar panels on the side of the freeways and on public schools. On the residential side, to incentivize homeowners to take action, state and federal taxes are paying for the cost of switching to solar energy. You get a cheaper bill and also qualify for tax credits.
