Worse customer service
Installed a large set of Rex panels. I have had nothing but issues with Gold Rush Energy. Before install they broke tiles on my roof (understandable)Removed the broken tiles and left my roof exposed where it rained for the next couple days in freezing temperatures. When contacting Gold Rush they said “we will be out there in a couple days” it’s rained those couple days. I’ve had panels relocated because of poor design. Micro inverters have gone out serval times. Worse company to get ahold of.! Have been promised several times that one of the owners would call me yet is never happened. This is just SOME of the issues with this company. Do not do business with Gold Rush Energy (El Dorado, California)

The whole process was fairly easy on my side. From first contact with Ben to final inspection with Tim the personnel were punctual, knowledgable, and proficient. My main regret is not completing this project sooner.

Disaster
Getting solar panels installed on your home...what could go wrong? Could your installer botch the site survey and undersize your system by 25%? Could the panels start malfunctioning, one after another, after another, after another, after another, after another? Could your installer refuse to honor their warranty and replace the defective panels, instead choosing to lie, avoid and deflect, only until on the verge of facing a lawsuit? Could your installer contact you to provide 'compensation' for all of the trouble they caused, then make it contingent upon removing bad reviews describing their performance? Could the entire experience turn into a complete and total nightmare, where you are left wondering once NEM3 and incompetence put your installer out of business, could you be left with defective solar panels and a worthless warranty? Don't make the mistake we did, trying to support local business, etc. - go with a group of professionals. This can turn into a day-in, day-out headache for the rest of the time you own your home. (If there are any doubts as to the authenticty of these words see the photos below and check for yourself on the Better Business Bureau website. And if you are experiencing this yourself, as apparently many others have, don't waste your time trying to work things out through them - go straight to the lawsuit + file a complaint with the Contractor's State Licensing Board).

Great company to work with
After getting several bids on solar panels, we were happy with the quote provided to us by Gold Rush. Their price, the number and type of solar panels, and their reputation was the right combination we were looking for. No issues with the panel installation, the team was quick, efficient, and professional. Finally, the day came where our solar panels were turned on and we started generating solar power. The Gold Rush team helped us every step of the way. We would recommend you using them for your solar needs.

Really disappointed, but don't get me wrong. I think their installers are good (I hope). They were fast, their workmanship looks professional from what I've seen (on the ground floor) I cannot say the same on the roof, I have to wait for the rainy season to see if there will be leaks. What disappoints me is their agent, I feel like we've been scammed by him, or perhaps by both? One of the reasons why we decided to go with Gold Rush Energy Solutions is their incentives. $1000 cash-back when we sign-up, you'll get I think $500 for every referral, and a 3 months refund of the first 3 months loan payment. Now, we are starting to doubt we will get those incentives, not the referral for sure for we are not referring after what is happening. We did not get the $1000 cash-back, we were told they have upgraded our main panel because it is not compatible with the new system. This was not disclosed to us, not until we started asking their agent when are we getting our cash-back. We were told the upgrade cost around $1800 (discounted), since we have the $1000 cash-back, he will use that to pay the amount and he will shoulder the remaining (so now I owe him a favor?) On the agreement, they are supposed to inform us if there will be changes and there should be an agreement first. No one told us before, during and after installation that they will or they made an upgrade on our main panel. The excuse does not make sense to me. The installer checked our electrical system and designed the solar system based on our existing system. They should have known by then we need to upgrade our main panel and informed us. We were referred by a family friend, at least she got her cash-back, but still working on getting the referral. The agent has many excuses on his sleeve to pull out that until now he has not given the referral incentive.

Great job, great service
Gold Rush did a fantastic job installing our PV system and their customer service is great as well. They went the extra mile to make address a hardware problem which was not their fault and to make sure we had a functional system ASAP. Installers Mark and Mitch were awesome! Nathan in tech support is awesome as well.

Kudos to Tim for solving our problem
On 3/31/2022 I noticed that our solar system was not producing any power when I checked the SolarEdge app. Turns out it hadn't been since 3/24. I call Gold Rush Energy and they said they would send Nate out the next day. However, Nate never showed up and he never called to say so. Just to see what would happened I checked the breaker and it was thrown. So, reset the breaker and power was restored. However a week later, 4/4/2022 our solar power went out again. I again called Gold Rush Energy and they then sent out Tim to check it out. He cam within the hour, checked the breaker and found that the connection was lose and tightened it up. Now power is restored. Should have requested Tim the first time.
