ElectriCare was a joy to work with!

Everything about our experience with Electricare’s design and installation of our home’s solar system was 5 star! We began the journey in late May by contacting Dan at Electrum, the company tasked with running SCE’s Solar Marketplace. They served as our advocates in obtaining three customized bids, quickly responding to our question, supporting us in adjusting our bids to fit our needs and finances, and checking in with us throughout the selection and installation processes. We chose Electricare to be our installer. They were local and we heard great things about their customer support, responsiveness, professionalism, and their tireless efforts to plow through the local and SCE red tape to get our system installed and activated in a timely manner. They lived up to all of that and more! Electricare contacted us in early June and within a week, completed a site inspection, created a great proposal and started the process of SCE and city approvals. Installation began in early July with a main electrical panel replacement, which took one day, followed the next week by the panel and solar system installation which also took one day. The city quickly signed off and SCE granted Permission to Operate (PTO) two weeks later! All along the way the Electricare team was actively supporting us. They were extremely professional, sensitive to designing a system that met both our electrical and esthetic needs, communicated often with us, provided us tips and insights for using and maximizing our solar system, extremely neat in their work, and careful to make sure the installation, conduit, and boxes matched our paint color and did not detract from the look of the house or roof. They even repaired a paver stone which was accidentally damaged during the installation. The caring, friendly, and professional attitude of the Electricare team was clearly seen in our interactions with each member of the team starting with Arlene who was our constant link with Electricare, keeping us informed every step along the way. She was on top of everything, even anticipating our questions ahead of time and calling us with our answers before we even asked! This level of customer care continued with Alex, the company’s COO, who did the sight inspection and designed our system and even gave me a great tip on how to insulate the attic access in the house to prevent heat and cold from entering the house. Chase, who took care of the main panel replacement, and Sean, who took care of the system hook-up and wi-if programming, were great to work with and showed the same customer service we were already experiencing. We were also impressed with Brando, Julio, and Junior who installed the panels for their focus on a quality installation and making sure there was no damage to the roof or house and that the worksite was completely neat and clean when they left, and with Allen, who stopped by to make sure the electrical was installed well and that we were pleased with the work. And finally, to Eddie, Electricare’s CEO, who clearly sets the tone for the company and the team, called after we received the PTO to make sure we were pleased with the installation, follow-up with any loose ends, and to walk me through powering up the system. We could not have been happier with the entire process and were extremely pleased with how quickly it all came together. It is all thanks to the team at Electrum and Electricare! While we have not yet received our first SCE bill, we can clearly tell that we’ve made the right choice both through the production data we see on the system’s app and through a quick look at a week’s worth of data on our SCE account page showing how much electricity has been received (consumed by us) and delivered (excess electricity produced and sent to SCE). Thank you Electricare!

RUN!!!

My install was in 2015, sold by owner, Eddie Haro (Hi Eddie, my fighting this will last longer than the bogus 20 year contract you signed me up for. I'm not gonna go away.) He said, *At the end of my year up, my balance with SoCal Edison would be "give or take $50". Said his wife sends $20 a year to their electric company just to cover the minor fluctuations. My first bill from Edison was $1000. He claimed I use too much energy. I didn't use my a/c unit, or hardly light for that matter for the next year. That was an $800 bill. 2 years in he said my panels were blocked by shade (same roof he inspected prior to installing) moved them all, breaking a skylight (being secretive about that, "Oh, I didn't know anything was damaged!") in the process. They eventually added two more panels. The customer service team FLAT OUT refused to put a manager on the phone. "I AM the manager!" They did this for years. Fast forward 7yrs after what's been a chronic state of *repairs* my bill this year to Edison is almost $4000. Annnnnnd I pay every month for my panels. He stopped helping or answering me as well. I've been barely avoiding disconnection while I'm suppose to be generating my own power?! Please, please, run for your lives from this man and his company. They've taken years off my life with stress and $1000 from my bank account. It's a scam, a fraud and a joke and they are completely at ease with ripping me off. Oh, they throw in a arbitration clause so you have little recourse. They know that going in. Now, I have $30,000 worth of useless nonsense on my roof. Beware!!! You have so many better, honest, companies to choose from. He's even got relatives and family members leaving him 5 star reviews. I'm not done yet, good sir.

The worst solar company out there

It all went down hill after the contract was signed and first payment was given. Took almost a year after contract was signed. They tried to up charge me after my contract was signed. Failed county inspection 4 times because of incompetency. One of the workers was caught reliving himself in my yard and nothing was done about it. I was called a liar, a cheat, and several other things by their employees. The worst company ever. Electrum (pick my solar) has been no help in resolving any of my issues. I will be reporting the to every agency I can and then I will be taking both company's to court.

Smooth and Expedited Process

ElectriCare did an excellent job! The process from start to finish was smooth and much quicker than I expected, especially with the COVID delays. The owner, Alex, himself was in regular contact with us, answered all of our questions, and was the utmost professional. This isn't no mom and pop shop, though. They've been doing this 20+ years and the experience and expertise show.

Choose a different company

Do yourself a favor and choose any other solar company than this one. You'll notice no reviews from 2021 mention the completion of a solar install. Well, we have been working with Electricare to get solar installed for over 12 months and have been misled, either on purpose or through their incompetence, to install a system on our roof that we currently cannot use. They continually fail the city inspection and since May 2021 we've been paying for both a solar loan and our regular electric bill. During literally the hottest months of the year! It's been over a month since they failed the last inspection and they have ghosted us. If this continues to be unresolved I am reporting them to the BBB for fraud, so let my bad experience serve you and choose someone else. I will note that the actual team who installed our solar was stellar and courteous. It appears their office staff and communication with Pick My Solar is the reason for this unpleasant experience.

The best!

We got our system in 2008 and ElectriCare did everything right from reviewing our energy usage and sizing our system perfectly. We recently (2014) had issues with the inverter and ElectriCare replaced it under warranty. They stand behind their products and we are 100 percent satisfied.

I am still waiting for SCE to inspect so the system so it can be turned on. I was told it would take 2 weeks then I was told it would be 4 weeks now I am told it will be 6 to 8 weeks.
I stil have not had the utility inspection so I don`t know if there will be any changes needed.

We installed the system in two stages- first was a 2.5kW system with a 4000 watt inverter for expansion. A year later we added the max number of panels to fill out the sytem to 4.6kW (DC)/3.99kW (AC).
After the system was completed we upgraded other things (better A/C, increased insulation in the attic, etc.). we are consistently overproducing and run credits with So. Calif. Edison.

We are happy.
Contractor applied the California Solar Initiative rebate against the purchase price. I had to collect the Fed. Income Tax credit myself.
