Great Experience!

From my initial contact by telephone to completion of the installation, they were professional and everything was as explained and on time.

They spent the extra time to determine the best options for us and customize the system and investment method that was best for us.

I cannot wait until summer when our savings will go up even more!

Latest bad review thumbs down

NJ or NY people are who i dealt with

Order from Amazon. The hassle with these people is not worth it at all. I ordered 2 panels and the delivery process will have you pulling your teeth out. I have actually not even received my panels and am leaving a rating. You have to be physically present and open it then and there. But...they never show up, day after day you waste your time off of work. Then they start calling you non stop over a period of just a few hours and claim they can't get a hold of you. Hmmmm most people are working, functional members of society, and most bosses do not want you on your personal phone. It's not even scheduled now for a few more days why am I suppose to be at their immediate disposal right now. I am suppose to have patience but they can't? Do not use them.

After Installation

The sales representative and the installer for A1 Solar where both professional and curtious. However, I purchased 7 solar panels and upon installation (last fall) only 6 panels worked. On numerous occasions, I text the salesman regarding this and even took a picture of the read out that showed 6/7 working. He told me several times that someone would contact me - that never happened.
Now when you look at the read out it says 6 of 6 working. So, why is it that I have 7 panels on my roof?

Consumer BEWARE

The shoddy and TOTALLY unprofessional installation of our solar panels by A-1 Solar has led us to nothing but problems with our roof Instead of pre-drilling the holes into our concrete tiles and actually hitting the beams to secure the solar braces, they forced-drilled the lag screws through the concrete tiles and into the plywood (missing the beams completely) creating channels for the rain water to flow. And flow it has, the rain that is, right into our entry hall and TV room. Perhaps we should be grateful that California has been in a drought for years on end, otherwise the damage to the interior of our home would have been far more extensive. A-1's own inspector/technician noted the installation as "truly pathetic" and informed us that "There is no question in my mind that A-1 is responsible for the full extent of this damage". Yet, our roof has NOT been adequately repaired to date.

Reply from #jerkedaround: I would like to know how we are suppose to proceed with re-instating the integrity of our roof, which--by the way--was less than 10 years old when this shoddy installation was preformed, as A-1 Solar appears reluctant to want to assume the responsibility for the damage to our roof, as well as assuming the responsibility of resolving the water damage to the interior of our home. Interestingly enough, this reluctance is in spite of the fact of the recommendations A-1's own inspector/technician attempted to push forward after he duly noted the "pathetic installation" as both cause and reason for the leaks. Any ideas?

I had my Solar panel back in November 2015 when they installed them they told me we were up and running which was not true because A1 was having issues to were they could not get them running we had to get a hold of Roy Houslop and could not believe they could not get them going .a year later we get a bill from PG&E of 1,000.00 dollars because every month we have to purchase energy from them . Don't understand why if because we purchased 4 more panels then what they told us we would need . And at these point I have try ed to get a hold of them and nobody is returning my calls and these is a 20 year warranty. You guys need to pay that bill and come and fix my Solar panels. Someone better contact me ASAP (408)680-6963 Not a very happy customer

Worst company ever

I signed my contract 8/2014, they said I would have the panels in by October 2014 and they didn't. They failed to get an extension from HERO because the project was completed. There after getting HERO squared away. It took until Dec 2015 to turn on my solar panels. They said for the inconvenince they would pay Sept, Oct, Nov, & Dec light bill. I faxed it over and here I'm in June and no payment has been sent. Richa whom said she got it approved and sent in to accounting to pay it. Is now saying it was never approved and is no longer in that dept how convenient. I have had many people ask me about my panels and I tell them not to go A-Solar to go elsewhere.

Awful company, run away

Installed a faulty solar inverter that caused me over $3000 in PG & E bills they promised to refund me over 6 months ago.
In 10/2015 sales man Roy Haslup came to home and gave me false information on 2 visits regarding what we could expect from the solar panels. I paid them $28,000.00 to install a Delta inverter with 12 solar panels that Roy promised to eliminate my PG&E bill and give power back to PG&E. This was not the truth, in 10/2016 I received an outrageous True up bill from PG&E for over $2665.00 for the previous 12 months (10/15 to 10/16). I contacted them many times and finally Matt Madwin stated he would replace the inverter and pay my PG&E bill. They did finally replace the Delta inverter for a Solis in 2/2016. However, they never payed me for the PG&E bills $2665.00 + $335.00 for bills from 10/2015 to 2/2016 total of $3,000.00. I have called over 30 times and sent various emails to Matt Madwin and Robin Sneider and they have not contaced me to resolve this issue. I paid $28,000.00 to eliminate my PG&E bill an instead I am stuck with a $3,000,00 bill. It has been 6 months since I initially contacted A1 Solar Power. I want them to pay my PG&E bill because that is what is what they promised and what is fair since they lied and the equipment installed was faulty.

Great People Great Company

From our first contact with the company by telephone to completion of the installation they explained everything in a straight forward manner, the system was installed quickly and has proven to perform as promised and delivers the monthly savings we were quoted.

I can't wait until summer and our saving will be even higher!

ripped off

I bought my solar from A1 solar using the hero program. I was told repeatedly that my monthly payment would be $120 a month.

just got my statement for my first 6 months which is $2668.44. Divide this by 6 it come out $444.72. Almost twice that of Edison. and 4 time what I was told.

I called A1 four days ago and talked to someone. they said they would call me back. So far they have not called me. Tried to call them again but I waited for 20 then gave up, and will try later.

Called hero and they seem to be doing something, I think.

Solar Still not worth it

Went through the analysis and we were promised the panels would cover our bill. They told us we would get a rebate from the electric company for the power the panels contributed to the grid. Then we had them add extra panels to cover charging an electric vehicle. A year later (without an EV) instead of a rebate, we had to PAY over $500 to SCE.

great experience

I chose this company to do my solar because the sales person who came out was very knowledgeable and not pushy. He helped me understand the difference between a lease and purchase. From start to finish it took 2 months to get my system up and running.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE AND SERVICE!!

Possibly the biggest BS artists with whom I have ever done business! What you can depend on is that you cannot depend on anything their sales reps say. By the way, they also go by the name Hot Solar.
Here is a small list of lies my wife and I were told:
The size of the system we purchased from them will more than cover the amount of electricity we use, based on our past year's bills. LIE.
If there is any problem with the system's functioning, they will fix it. LIE. (The only way they fixed it was after months of my threatening to sue them.)
Once they admitted that there was a problem in the system, I was told that they will reimburse us for all electric bills once they fix the problem. LIE.
They claim to pay a finder's fee if we recommend someone to them: $100 if the person meets with the sales rep but does not make a purchase, $500 if they make a purchase. We gave them two referrals before we realized what scammers they are; but no payment. LIE.
The sales rep literally did not know the difference between a kilowatt and a volt.

Additionally, when we asked the sales rep, who apparently will try to sell anything, for a referral for a house painter, he himself called us with a quote that was SIX TIMES the next highest quote that we received.

I will be suing them for the electric bills they promised to reimburse plus the referrals we did not receive payment for.
