did not include existing water heater into system-ended up removing it.
no idea as to how it works beyond included manuals
refused to install pvc panel to run pump - they only want to sell system to power entire house. lot of good the system does when electric is out.
no one wants to sell a pv system to run the pump on a water heater....greedy bastards only want to sell $30,000 systems.

will not even tell you what you need to do it yourself! it only runs during daylight hours. does not need to be tied into the electric company. may need 1 or 2 batteries. only needs a $29 inverter....maybe a $200 panel....no profit in it for them....why worry about their customers needs....greedy bastards! all of`em! no one will even talk to me about it. have contacted several solar installers around the country/state. No Job Too Small is NOT in their creed. Give Me The Bucks....that`s all they want.

The system I had installed works great....as long as the electricity is on. I have been monitoring my electric bill and there is a definite savings. Only had to turn on the power to the heater twice (for 1 hr each time) to have hot water after 2 days of cold, rain & cloud cover. Not Bad!

It is gonna suck when when the electric is out again for 7 days because of a hurricane and we have no hot water because no solar contractor will install a pv system to operate the pump. Pretty much defeats one of the reasons we put the system in...hot water without depending on electricity!
