Terrible Customer Service

I bought a house with a Vivint Solar array installed. From the first call to the company, the customer service was horrible. Most of the time you cannot reach a representative and need to leave a message, so they can call you back. Those call backs take 24 hours at least. Took almost 2 months to set up my account, so I could view/pay bills online. Their billing system is glitchy and sends out past-due payment notifications before a billing statement has ever been provided. If you use Vivint, don't enroll in auto bill pay. The amount owed changes and they can't explain why.

I also reviewed the marketing materials used to sell the solar panels to the former owners of the house. They are misleading at best. They show the cost of electricity increasing wildly, but that hasn't been true for most of the U.S. The marketing materials also state that "your cost of electricity will not go up by more than 2.9% per year." The actual contract Vivint makes you sign binds you to accepting electricity price increases of 2.9% per year...The entire thing is a scam and likely to cost you money versus just buying electricity on the open market.
