Sales pitch that you will get a great return on investment with a clean energy rebate, and a lower monthly electricity bill, when that is just not true. Your Utility Electric Bill is less, but the Solar City Bill is quadruple the utility fees that I was paying to Xcel Energy. Therefore, my electricity bill is 4 times what I was paying before. I also had to shell out an additional $13,750 after Tax Day if I wanted to see a lower Solar City Bill. It did not reduce it enough to provide a positive return on investment. I am still in the red on the expense of adding these solar panels.
