Perhaps all solar companies do the same things but my experience was with SunPower Corporate.<br />1. If you purchase system beware of purported guarantees. You will get a performance sheet of annual output that will be called a guaranteed production. It is not that at all. Rather, it is an ESTIMATE of production at the most optimistic conditions possible, which likely will never be met. When your system produces much less than the spec sheet you will be told it was the weather conditions. Yeah. It does get cloudy so why give you such an optimistic performance sheet with NO EXPLANATION or qualifiers regarding the numbers. Completely misleading.<br />2. Don't be fooled. THERE IS NO MONITORING WHATSOEVER IF YOU BUY THE SYSTEM. (don't know about other purchases). There is a software system that will indicate production but no one at SunPower actually monitors the software to see if the system is working. You need to monitor yourself and call SunPower if you see a problem. Here, not just misleading but fraudulent. There system is like a home alarm that the central company does nothing to monitor. When your local alarm rings that is the monitoring and you have to call the company. That is the SunPower system and that is not MONITORING at all.<br />3. Service is horrible. Follow-up is worse. Don't expect much and you will be rewarded.
