Highly recommended company - professional, knowledgeable!

When we finally made the decision to go solar I started looking at two companies - one of the larger, commonly seen and MSSI after discovering them on this site and seeing the consistently high rating. Although initially skeptical of such a high rating I was intrigued enough to contact them - and *completely* happy I did afterwards.<br /><br />Reaching out online I received an estimate the same day - no hassles, no pressure, just a simple estimate and request that if we wanted more information to contact them and they'd be happy to go into details. Seeing that the costs appeared reasonable, I contacted them and an appointment was quickly setup a few days later to meet with Collette (the owner). She came out to the house and sat at the table for easily 2-3 hours going over everything in detail answering every possible question - she *absolutely* without a doubt is *highly* knowledgable and uses scientifically sound data (independent 3rd party testing results (not paid for by the manufacturer)) and sound, logical reasoning in the selection of equipment MSSI installs. Most importantly - she took the *time* and *repeatedly* made sure I completely understood everything.<br /><br />When it came to installation, the same level of attention to detail and friendliness of the staff continued. Everyone was knowledgeable, worked efficiently, and kept everything neat and tidy throughout the process. Everything was installed exactly as described, and I was impressed with the roof mounting system that is used. They even painted exposed conduit (which they work hard to minimize) to match our siding color to it blends in. This level of care was even taken on the *back* side of the house that nobody sees where they painted the conduit black to blend in with the roof ridge vent.<br /><br />The system has now been installed for almost 8 months and is operating within the range we were told. In addition to cutting our electric bill significantly, because we own the system the SRECS being generated will most likely offset all or almost all of our remaining electric bills. Post sale/installation their responses have remained just as fast and courteous. I'm sensitive to what is and isn't good customer service and they have been top notch throughout - I cannot recommend this company enough and to document all the good things here would require a book.<br /><br />MSSI also handles the paperwork for *everything*. They pre-fill out the forms, sending them to you with tabs marking all the spots you need to sign, initial or fill in the few pieces of information they don't already have. You send them back, they file them with all the different places they need to go. That includes state rebate, registering as a power producer, permits, getting your power company to swap in the right meter, getting you registered in PJM-GATS for SREC generation, and probably a few other things I'm forgetting. So *all* paperwork is handled by them except for the credit you'll claim on your federal taxes which they obviously can't do for you.<br /><br />The other, big company that I looked at didn't listen to me - they quoted a free, leased system when I *specifically* said I wanted to own my system. It took them several weeks before someone came out - and all he did was measure everything inside and outside. He couldn't even tell me how the system reports back power generation statistics. It then took 2 more weeks before they sent me a "final" engineered quote - and again it was for a leased system and was not as large as Collette recommended when she came out and visited (I wanted as large a system as cost effective as possible). This large company even kept calling me for months *after* I told them I already had system installed! (They eventually stopped when I became irritated with the caller and he said he'd make a note "in my file" that I already had a system installed.)
