Initially, we enjoyed our electric solar and solar hot water system. However, the solar hot water system broke down because of faulty installation of improper flex lines in the attic which burst in mid July 2015. Repairs were finally completed in October 2015 but I told the repair person that I didn't hear the pump running but he assured me it was. Because we also have a gas water heater, we didn't realize the solar hot water system wasn't working until I checked the Sun Edison monitor site in late December and discovered the solar hot water system wasn't producing energy therefore not producing hot water. Apparently, nobody at Sun Edison monitors their systems even though they have remote access to the system. The pump has never worked since mid July 2015 when it broke and has never worked since. Based on my experience with Sun Edison, I would not recommend their company for solar hot water service.
